yeah, it says the maximum for a custom picture is 50 X 50. i just noticed that. thanks. i just dont know how muddy's is so big..that would be perfect size..every time i upload a photo, its tiny.

haha, i hope not! well no biggie, i just wanted to be able to read my pic..its kinda funny. but its so tiny you can barely see darth vador

ok, ive got some great news..well for the most part. I woke up this morning and tried my daily water running through my "test" pot. It came out at 6.4! im stoked! the lime def works..so its been three days, so I hope the same will be said for my babies once i water again this upcoming weekend. Also, i checked on my girls this morning, and AKR #3 is shooting out bud sites left and right! there must be 10 of them! she has been my best plant by far, and she keeps on amazing me. The other two have a few bud sites, but its kinda depressing theyre literally half the size as #3. The plants as a whole i mean. I hope they are just running a few days behind in growth, but well see. All the growth looks very healthy on them, just the size of them is alot smaller. OK, now for a big question-m nervous as heck, but its got to get done sooner or later: Should I switch over to my 1000 watt HPS now? Im noticing on some of the plants, that the lowest leaves are starting to yellow, which ive heard is natural, but may be from lack of light. My plan is to use the HPS, and still use the T5's for side lighting and for supplemental blue..Ill obviously start the HPS as high as it will go, and slowly move it down day by day, but im so afraid to fry my foliage! Please, anyone, chime in and tell me what you think! im almost positive im gonna go do it, either today or tomorrow, unless someone seriously objects to it-thanks for your input folks!

day 27 plant sizes.jpgday 27 bud sites.jpgday 27 bud sites akr3.jpgday 27 bud sites (2).jpgday 27 akr3 bud sites.jpgday 27 akr 3 bud site.jpgok, here are what im almost positive are the bud sites..she's beginning to flower! This a great day, the only sad part about it is look at the one pic of the side by side comparison of two akr's. unfortunately they are the same age, and my 3rd one (not shown) is the same size as the smaller one. So the AKR #3 is the biggest, far and away. Why is she so much bigger? nothing has been different, i mean nothing, yet she is maturing so much faster. And its been this way right from the beginning. Im just hoping that nothing's wrong, the other two are just a little slower at growing. Anyways, im so stoked about my big girl, nothings gonna bring me down today!

Hey growbee. That yellowing isn't natural right now. That's near the end of flowering is what you're thinking about. Could need some nitrogen. That ph seems to be in range now so next time you should feed her some veg nutes.

The difference in size is natural. That just happens, even with the same strain, there are different phenotypes.

As far as the HPS, I'd say you could go either way. I don't have much experience with HPS though. I'm sure it could take it just fine if you start high and lower slowly. Or you could also wait until they're at the end of pre-flower. Many people think that as soon as it starts forming pistils and the start of flowers that it is in flowering stage, but this is pre-flower, in which case you would still feed veg nutes. Flowering is when you actually see bud buds going, roughly 2-3 weeks after pre-flower starts.

Personally, I don't se any problems growbewan. I see nice, vinyl sheen on the leaves and lush green (signs of health). Which leaves are yellowing.. the very most bottom round ones.. small offshoot leaves etc? They're very bushy so if the leaves below aren't getting any light, the plant will naturally use-up the nutrients in it and concentrate on better top growth. This is quite normal in bushy vegging plants and actually a good sign.

As I say the top-growth tells a story of good overall health in my opinion.

Lookng good man.

I agree with Buddha. Things are looking good & you can probably think about trying the HPS now. I'd start it as high as possible & do it at a time when you're going to be around for a few hours to monitor things. Make sure the heat doesn't rise too much and that the plants don't start to curl away from the light. If you've flushed everything out of the soil you could probably give a light feeding of veg nutes next time you water, but the plants don't look hungry right now.

wow guys thanks. ok its done, im gonna hook up the big boy(1000k). Im not sure if the ph is under control in the plants soil yet, but I know its ok in my test pot, which leads me to believe it will be ok when it comes time to water again. I will give a VERY LIGHT feeding then. i put it in caps cuz i wanna stress how nervous nutes make me..lol. oh well, id rather be nervous than someone that just dumps it in there, i guess.

As far as the 1000k, my tent is 7' tall, so the highest I can reasonably start from the top of my plants is about 4 and a half feet, maybe a little more. I would imagine that would be ok, so long as i just monitor everything closely as andy said. The hydro guy told me to even just lower it an inch a day at first until they really get used to the light, then I can go a little more until im about 3 feet from the top of my canopy. Does that sound right?
And finally once again, thanks for all your help folks, things would be looking rather grim if I didnt have the help of the experts!

Yes, that sounds good to me. Lower it slowly at first at you should be able to gradually pull it down at greater distances until it's in range. For veg you should be 18-24 inches away for full flowering you can lower it as close as 12 inches. With that being said I am not positive how that workds with HPS. I'm pretty sure it's the same as long as your ventilation is good. Sending good karma your way :wiz:
