Now dude.. Get them settled in.. Let them stretch their legs..

Day 7 (from seed)

Oh nooooo!! I got some leaf burn on one of the Ortega's!! :finger:

its not nute or heat burn on that leaf, it was the seed shell! :D I watered the leafs and cube and the "brown burn" fell off. phheeeeeeeew !!

Notice 2 things... 1) One Ortega shot out damn fast, the other lagged behind. But during this last day/night cycle, damn! The second one got up to speed pretty fast! Notice how one cube is much dryer than the other. I watered exactly the same! Also true for the lagging Night Queen. Even the Purple haze is catching up. And I did burry the seeds quite deep. How cool is that?

Also, from today on they've been introduced to a steady regime of music! I installed a 5.1 (stereo output) system and a jukebox comprized of Ravi Shankar raggas's, Echo's of Nature 1 & 2, Sounds of Nature ... got to get some Beethoven ... suggestions always welcome... shame they don't like distorted guitars!!

Is there a specific time of day they prefer being transplanted? I was thinking of tonight, which is about noon in plant time...

Other than that, enviro is dialed in perfect!

Seems like you've got quite the setup going there man, everything seems to be going real good :] I'll be following your diary as well, quite interested to see how these LED panels turn out. To be honest the panels look good, their technical specifications seem ideal.

Looks more like a piece of the seed casing rather that burn Groff.

haha!! Right you are. I was being dramatic for effect lol. If you read between one of the pics posted you'll see I figured it out.
But I did get quite the scare!
Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm off to roll a big fat one and get those babies into the airpots!

I did do my research. This is what I think is the best spectrum for flowering. But that is only half of the story, knowing how to read the plants is much more important.
I am very surprised to see those little ones grow sideways to reach it. Didn't expect that at all. I thought at this stage the little ones cared more for the bright/cool white from the CFL.

Here is the ratio:

8 ROYAL BLUE 460nm LED'S
64 RED LED'S 630nm
4 DEEP RED 660NM LED'S
2 WHITE 12000K
1 IR 730nm
1 UV 380nm

Yeah those red and blue wavelengths are perfect :] 630/660 nanometres is perfect for red. I think those lights are gonna be ideal for the grow man :]

Now its just a matter of getting to know them a little better, make some nice breakfast juices for the ladies... :stir:
... first time using pH and EC pens and already pulling my hairs... :cuss: later on that...

Day 8

Decided to pot them directly into the airpots. Playing it safe.
I got my "big" water rez (have to measure how much it'l take), filled it with tap water and pH'ed it to 5.5 - 5.8, water temp 20.5ºC, EC 0.35.
Filled the airpots with coco and spread some water to help pack it in naturally. Potted them in nice and neatly.

Ortega

Have 5L of Formulex (5ml/L) and Rhizo (4ml/L) ready for dinner. I'm giving full dose now because they're photo's. Someone please correct me, but autos need less nutes right? Or is it the exact opposite...?

By the way, this setup is such a relief... the whole thing, lights, exhaust, fans, music, pump... everything is under 500w read from a kilowatt meter. Temperature is so controlled now, the fan runs sooo quiet... aaah!

T'was a good day gents! :toke:
