1st post....
fairly new grower here....have gotten ok results with a couple of dwarf autos(Buddha White Dwarf, Short Stuff 1, etc). I am getting a bigger tent and looking to do a little better with the yield. i really like the auto flowers as it makes growing easy for me. My question is about the nutrient schedule. I use happy frog soil and fox farm nutes. In order to keep my first couple of grows easy, I "boiled down" the process to this:
1st three weeks no notes....just water with a little root sim.
after that, I used a chopped up schedule that you can find on the fox farm website
then I flushed the last 2 weeks alternating with plain water and water w/bembe

i used half the recommended dosage and got ok results

but when you think about the fact that most of these autos mature at 8 or 9 weeks from germination...if you use no notes for the first 3 weeks and the last 2 weeks that leaves only 3-4 weeks max for the nutes. Am I way off here? What kind of program do you guys recommend or have had luck with? I have the following Fox Farm notes: Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Sledgehammer, Bembe, and Boomerang. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks to all who have contributed here as it got me started growing my own. No better smoke than that.

Heya Jim, Head over to Intros and say hello and let the community hear a bit about ya. If you are taking your plants down at 8 or 9 weeks, you are missing out on some great yield. Sure, the seed site tell you it will be done in that time, but most strains can go 10-12 weeks or more. Here is a guide to help you be more successful.

Your asking a good question. Have your nute program in line is the #1 priority IMHO.

I use Mills Nutrients and start using them at full strength right out of the gate according to their schedule.

I am doing 2 Weeks of Base plus Start R (Root stimulater)
3 Weeks of Base Plus C-4 (flower starter)
3 Weeks of Base Plus Ultra PK (flower finishers)
2 weeks Snowstorm
1 week plain water.

I have seen your results too B-Wash, they are VERY impressive

Thanks for the info. I will plan for longer growing times. Even at ten weeks though, that still leaves only 5 weeks for nutes. Does that sound correct? I am pretty new at this, so again, i tried to boil the process down to something easy to "digest". I only grow 2-3 plants at a time so I doubt I will ever get any real expertise growing only 8-12 small plants a year. With these autos they seem to be on a set program that I can do little to change. In the case of the Buddha White Dwarf at 8 weeks I already had some amber trichomes, so I chopped them. In a case like that, should I just let them go and flush them for 2 more weeks? Will that push up the yield? I am looking for the couch lock effect so if that strengthens that effect then I am cool with that. Any thoughts?
