I got my Mom a Gardenia when I was a little stinker....7 or 8yrs old. It got quite big in the 10 years we lived there. When Mom and Dad moved. Mom wanted another, so when I was home on leave, I set her up with a new one. It was huge by the time she sold the home 20 years later. She wanted another when I moved her to my farm, but planted her a really nice rose garden instead.

I have the "Big Sister" of a Gardenia at my new home. It's a pretty good sized Magnolia. It's doubled its size in the past 5 years I've been here and using my organics.

edit.........The Magnolia survived the sub-zero temps and huge snow we had here at the first of the year.

I Love Magnolias too......

I was surprised when the 1st one flowered out. Then started reading up on them abit and separated them for more bulbs not worrying about flowers. Was kind of nice surprise to get so many this year.

Any Tips @Bill.de.Cat .....I have a neglected one that has never flowered.....?
Seems it's not uncommon to have them not bloom after 1st time. After bloom care and a dormancy period is needed and that seems hit or miss. Some try for every other year...I got to read up on it more.
