My first gardenia bloom. It's not much but I am pretty excited about it. Smells great too.

I got my Mom a Gardenia when I was a little stinker....7 or 8yrs old. It got quite big in the 10 years we lived there. When Mom and Dad moved. Mom wanted another, so when I was home on leave, I set her up with a new one. It was huge by the time she sold the home 20 years later. She wanted another when I moved her to my farm, but planted her a really nice rose garden instead.

I have the "Big Sister" of a Gardenia at my new home. It's a pretty good sized Magnolia. It's doubled its size in the past 5 years I've been here and using my organics.

edit.........The Magnolia survived the sub-zero temps and huge snow we had here at the first of the year.

Starting some mammoth sunflowers and some more Goats weed peppers again...the lettuce I grew this winter that was not used, was buried in the soil where it was grown and will be annihilated by worms and soil mites in no time and turned back into usable food..
Some goatsweed sprouted sooner than others so they had to go in the closet with my one and only cannabis plant I am able to grow due to extenuating circumstances.. i put little mini humidity domes on them and am curious how they will respond to the autocob intensity.. They will be going outside as soon as weather and time permits.

Sorry for the cannabis pic in this non cannabis thread, didnt have the energy to pull that pot out of the way..(if its a strict rule I can remove it)
the arthritis in my upper back from an old surfing injury told me to leave it in place. Anyhow they are off to the side.. seem to be doing ok.. Tough seeds to germinate.. They need warm soil and humidity in the beginning or they wont pop at all.

Mammoth sunflowers popped in 24 hours.. they will be going out front to get massive. The goats weed are tiny little fellas, most had helmets and needed delicate surgery. Had them under a small dome, but they jumped up and started hitting their heads on it, so had to improvise with the baggies.

Not the best pic to show the peppers under the autocob but here it is:

Here's some more pics of my indoor garden.
Used a wire shelf and put lights on all 3 levels. Tried several methods of germination. The jiffy pellets were the easiest I think. Rapid rooters worked pretty good, but for seeds, I'd stick the the jiffy.
Everything but the lettuce was moved outdoors in rows and raised beds.

It has been watered and I added chicken manure to it . It mainly wood chip , what we have is a big green waste dump that the Shire lets people dump for free and every year or so the get a massive wood chipper in to chip the lot , then we can take what we want , most people take the nice clean looking chip . Not me . I like this stuff . Breaks down faster . been on site longer .
