Happened to be potting up other plants and took the opportunity to pot WG up into her solo. I knifed the sides to allow more air flow, went with only a layer of hydroton on the bottom and pure Stonington blend above. Made a slick little holder out of 4x zip ties, let’s me keep using the Spider-Man method
I used to work at a nursery and operated a TTA transplanter so no fear of throwing around a seedling here
I’ve read it on AFN somewhere that your second set of true leaves should atleast be of equal size to the first set of true leaves by day 10, otherwise it may indicate stunting early on. Happy to say this lady meets this threshold
Some leaf crinkle maybe from temps/RH being less than ideal. Pleasantly satisfied with her though. Her roots are popping through 4/7 of the holes on the bottom. More roots more shoots more fruits right? I’ll have to get her suspended tonight so the roots air prune themselves. Right now she’s sitting directly on the ground which is also probably bad for temps as the ground isn’t insulated on this tent due to height restrictions in the basement. Thanks for looking
Two weeks in, still having a crinkle to her leaf. Not overly concerned, laughably may have doubled up on the problem if it’s overly hot soil as I top dressed 1/2 tsp of Stonington Blend Plant Food(here forward known as SBPF). I stuck 8 popsicle sticks into the soil. Almost looks like Stonehenge.
Basically I will remove a popsicle stick and back fill with granular ferts (SBPF) over the life cycle of the plant. Maybe every five days starting on day 20? Something like that. Highdea! Plus I once read that roots were stimulated by running into objects perhaps it will lead to better interior rooting.
Long overdue update. She’s doing ok but has fungus gnats pretty heavy. I’ll check locally for some organic approved material like gnatrol. She’s a bit yellow, she’s gotten five 1 tsp doses of SBPF and I removed a single popsicle stick each time and backfilled with the granular ferts, incorporating the rest into the surface before watering to runoff. Overall nice plant structure so far but no flowering to speak of making it the longest I have personally seen before flower
Still no sexing this Solo. It’s putting in some stretch now that it’s under some more intense light(before it was just on the ground in my tent). So I did some LST, though it’s structure was nice beforehand. I think some leveling of the branches will help alleviate the monster stretch we saw in other wedding glue solos.
before with nice praying
after
watering twice a day now, once she’s into flower eventually Ill defoliate some to lessen the demand
