Dutch Passion Newbie Lowish Cost Low Tech DP TD and ABB Grow

I get that the ph and tds/ec are essential to maximize your yields, but, at the same time on the PH side, the grows on here using ph perfect don't seem to have many issues once you get past the seedling dosage. As to the TDS/EC I still plan to be careful and methodical with nutrient application, and push them as much as possible based on the health of the plants just to see what's possible.

I agree that I'm going to miss out of the communication from the plants without knowing what's going on with the ppm/ec and ph.

...Hopefully things go well, otherwise, when things go sideways you'll probably see me break down and buy tds and ph meters.

I support your experiment, if we can establish a trend where enough people can grow "error proof" with pH perfect nutes (Canna also makes a self-adjusting lineup) then we can start to develop the foundation of an ultra-budget setup that has a proven track record.

I think everyone should own a pH/TDS meter "just in case" but there will come a time when it's irrelevant based on technological advances, like much in human history.

welcome and good luck with it sir

looking good man nice set up good luck with the grow :jump:

Looks like a good setup :)

But let me tell you that you're honestly going to NEED a pH pen and preferably an EC meter. DWC requires everything to be at consistent levels and if you haven't a pH meter or EC meter, you won't be able to measure these levels and it'll be too late to detect any problems before they happen.
I really recommend you invest in them dude, your results will be far far better :)

Hey Wombat Welcome to AFN ,and esp. welcome to the DP section. Your grow looks like its off to a good start, and you have heard many before me say it, and I would second it strongly, that at least an EC pen would be a good investment, esp in DWC, things can change very quickly in the bucket esp when the plant gets into its preflower phase. When you buy your pen, spend the extra bucks to get a waterproof one, you'd be surprised how easy it is to drop that thing into a bucket!!!! Best of luck with you grow, if you need anything just ask!!!

Sensi-grow is the best in my "opinion".. It's what I started with and it's what I have stayed with for more than a couple of years now and I use nothing else other than some pineapple molasses towards harvest for flavoring. But a bit of advice using Sensi-grow. It will always drop your pH.. "ALWAYS" So you need to ph your water after you nute it. Also, I know from experience that you are going to need a small pinch of epson salt in each bucket for magnesium. That's one area Sensi seems to need improvement.
I feel your pain trying to hide the noise and the light... I used to be just like that. But one thing I noticed as that when people are over, they never notice any sound.. They just block it out while I seem to hear it like a run away freight train.. But all is well.

Good luck, looking good and I look forward to your updates.!

minor panic

So, it's day 9, the Blueberry seems to be doing pretty well, with the leaves curling just a little. The 3 Think different plants on the other hand look burnt on the edges with the leaves curling up and are noticeably smaller than the ABB. From reading through the self diagnosis guide it seems as thought it's a potasium deficiency and/or underfeeding. So, I added another 1ml/l of Sensigrow A and B to the reservoirs, while I was there I noticed the roots on all three TD's were sort of a brownish color, compared to the bright white ABB roots, so I added 2ml/l of SensiZym as well. Bringing the totals for these reservoirs up to

2ml/l of SensiGrow A
2ml/l of SensiGrow B
1ml/l of B-52
2ml/l of SensiZym

Hopefully my in my half panic I didn't do anything too stupid, guess we'll see tomorrow.

subbed bro. looks like you did some research. td and abb are great strains, and dwc grows, done right, provide epic yeilds.

but get a combo pen to see how your ladies are doing. its a short life for the girls. for your sake, treat em right.
the hanna 98129 is all you'll ever need, just keep it calibrated.
