The plan is to water with distilled water, the well water tests at 608ppm.

Just set up the tent, lights and venting two days ago. My problem is HEAT! Both hoods are cooled with the eight inch fan cooling just the hoods with outside air, in one side out the other. larger carbon filter is inside on the top of the tent with one six inch exhausting out. Other carbon filter on floor for extra scent scrubbing. with the lights on (digital only set at 600, glass closed) the floor of the tent is 91 temp with 40 RH. outside of then is 73 temp and 58 RH. lights are also up as high as possible right now. The room the tent is in was an attached garage the is now storage, boiler and water softener space with no windows. tent exhausts to an old exhaust system to the outside or the house. I have no place to exhaust an ac system either.

Seeds - sour hound, sodk, nch x sour hound, sour crinkle, sour alien livers, manbearalienpig, grape walker kush, sour orange livers and A v T special pheno.

sorry for the long post guys. Ive been reading on here for a month and just can't wrap my head around what the hell i need to do. I was really excited about this and now i wish i could send it all back. Spent a small fortune on everything and REALLY need this to pay off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Do you have the fan sucking air into the light to cool it or sucking it out of the light ..........i use mine pulling the cool air into the light and it makes a difference

Hey Milo77

You've come to the right place if you stay and don't give up you'll find this a very rewarding hobby. Did I buy too much? Can't tell you how many times I've had buyer's remorse.

Hopefully it's the middle of summer where you are, if so you can work with those temps until winter.

I see you have two hoods are they 1000-watt? During the summer a lot of guys don't even bother growing because of the heat, most of us reduce the amount of lighting we're growing with. So if you've been running both lights I would go ahead and cut down to one.

Have you started any seeds yet? It would really be best if you grow maybe two plants under one light in 5 gallon pots. That would give you a chance to learn a little bit about things and if done well could yield you 5 or 6 oz of decent smoke.

I hate to tell you this part, but I'm not using any of the gear I bought when I first started and I'm on my third light vendor. Although, I won't be switching those anymore.

Tried one light with ballast turned down to 600 watts, still got the same temp reading.

So where I'm at we're in about the hottest part of the summer right now. If that's the case with your location one thing you might do, is do without the tent for now. That will give you a larger space to heat up with your one light and lots of extraction to get that heat out of your room. That way about the time they start to smell you should be heading in to cooler temperatures and you can start thinking about scenarios like running your lights mostly during the middle of the night and avoiding the middle of the day time. And of course move back into your tent as the temperatures allow.

Could you perhaps return one or both of your lights and get an LED instead? The reason I ask is I use lumigrow Pro LEDs I prefer the 325s. They only draw about 300 watts at the wall, which means they only put out 300 watts worth of heat. Yet they still put out the par of a thousand watt light. I grow enough 1lb autoflowers that it's an irrefutable fact that those lights produce as much power as a 1000 watt hid.
