New Grower New grower: third set of seeds...

I tried that "optimal umol/dli" on my 1st try and they just stretched to the moon.
Also not seeing any of the experienced growers do it.
Guess it comes back to the good old "see how your plants react", I assume in your case they are stretching and that's the plants reaction, now its your turn. I was at 150watt 80cm distance and forum people seemed to be fine with it lol.

I got 6 new seeds germinated aswell, I might start a journal because it's in coco and I still have so many unanswered questions so I will need all the help I can find. It's difficult to find the more precise info using google.
Even more when it comes to autoflowers I feel like.

Hope everything goes well : )

With 150 watt draw grow light, yeah they will stretch. Apply a 500 watt draw grow light they will not stretch.

150 watts at 32 inches away is barely any light at all. Fluffy popcorn low thc buds at best.

Good luck!

Yes, I am going to try to ”read” the girls instead of the websites. Best thing is all of the great people here. So thankful.

Ok, everyone is transplanted into their final pots. I still have humidity domes - leave those for a couple days? Til first true leaves? Any other “indicator” to lose them?

i wouldnt raise the pots off the ground if youre going to be feeding organic nutrients or doing organic top dressing etc... a little runoff will get reabsorbed into the soil and runoff will be full of things you want to keep and if its not taken back up within an hour, it might be ok to get them off the ground for a while, but I rarely do unless i mess up and water waaay to much for some reason and the pots look like they want to float away. .. Usually folks raise their pots off the ground when they use chem ferts to avoid reabsorbing the extra salts the bit of runoff is supposed to expel but even with chem ferts if youve got it dialed in, plants can tolerate quite a bit as long as you dont feed every watering.
Id also like to note that ive tried very hard to over water in cloth pots and its harder than you would think
This is all just my personal theory and experience..... fwiw

Another tip:
Do your plants a favor and order this:

and since youre using happy frog and its lacking a bit of nitrogen compared to ocean forest this would be good to get as well:

You can add a bit to your mix at about 20 percent of the build a flower and then top dress with it 3-4 times throughout flower..It will make a huge difference. The happy frog isnt as nutritious as the ocean forest so the craft blend will help round out its nutrition profile.. You could add 1/4 cup to your mix and then sparingly as a top dress mixed with the build a flower. If youre going to use 5 gallon cloth pots, make sure they are a true 5 gallons and not a "#5" because those are 3 gallons.

DM me if you have any questions about any of this. Traveling right now so sorry if this has a bunch of typos etc

Edit: You can get away with just top dressing if youve already transplanted.

That's exactly what I mean with confusing, my light at 150 watt and 32 inches reads 350 - 400 umol,
Yet if you look for information about seedlings all you find is 200umol.
Maybe I'm just stupid and I'm missing something?

I have already purchased the Fox Farms trio (though I made a note of your Build a Soil recommendations for future grows, once my “training wheels” aren’t needed and I have watering/lights sorted!

I really appreciate your guidance.

The FF trio of nutes is fine. But a 150 watt grow light? maybe in a small closet.

If you are in a tent, 9 sq ft or more, you need MORE light for decent results. How big is your grow area/space?

He pretty much has the same setup as you in your current auto grow it seems.
But we're talking about a dimmed down light down to 150watts during seedling stage.

It wasn't a dimmed light that "burnt" his plants at all then. Maybe poor watering technique or using a hot soil did his plants in. It was not the light.

inadequate light source will force plants to stretch (search) for more light.
