New grower on the block

@jay-toker @420Forever So I guess an update on this. Typical beginner impatience mistake and dug around very lightly to see if anything was happening and it seems it was, I found the seedling had shed her shell and had begun growing. I've now misted around her, domed her and put her next to the window to catch some sunlight, hope I haven't done any damage and she'll grow to be big and strong!View attachment 1181330
Good job but next time wait don't dig up your babies

Updated pic below, she's doing just fine!

She's looking good!
Cheers Jay! Now I'm trying to work out the nute situation for her while she's a seedling, I've been misting with water + 1ml of root juice per L but now I'm seeing some charts suggest adding Biobizz Heaven as well.

I use light mix and biobizz nutes - I’ve not seen any advantage using heaven - it’s soooooo expensive too! For the first 2 weeks I just water with root juice (1ml p/l in week 1 and 2ml p/l in week 2). Week 3 I make a call on whether I need to start adding in some Fish Mix (I use that instead of biogrow) and I’d start that at .5 to 1ml p/l. Then increase over the next couple of weeks IF the ladies look like they are needing it. Once I hit preflower I start adding a small amount of bloom and as flowering ‘proper’ starts I pull back on the fish mix and ramp up bloom and top max.
Calmag I add from about wk3 at 0.5ml p/l and up to 2ml p/l by about wk6 - again amount depends on what the ladies are telling me. I use a qb light which seems to make my plants quite hungry for calmag.
I also use algamic with every watering from wk 3 (increasing from 1ml p/l to 3ml p/l over the next 3-4weeks).

Really you could probably do nothing but water for the first 3 weeks in light mix. Then start adding at most half the biobizz recommended nute levels (the charts they produce are for photos not autos). The best advice I can give is learn to read the leaves, what do they need? And remember it can take a couple of days for your plant to react to the nutes you add as the soil needs time to break down the nute in to a useable form that the plants can uptake.

Feel free to check out the journals I’ve posted as they are all totally biobizz based.

Awesome, thanks! She's now on day 5 of her seedling stage, and since she's fully sunshine lit she's gonna be growing a bit slower than if I had her in a tent under lights so wasn't sure if adding a few nutes like root juice and heaven might help her along! She still looks quite happy, but I'll keep an eye on her leaves to make sure she isn't being badly affected, just wasn't sure if it was OK to add Heaven to her so early since I've seen so much conflicting anecdotes. Pic from today below for reference

I think it’s a common misconception for some first time growers (and I know I thought it on my first grow) that adding loads of nutes will ‘boost’ your grow. It doesn’t, likelyhood is you’ll over feed or cause some sort of lockout leading to a deficiency. The plants really are weeds and can grow fairly well without much intervention but you will need to add nutes at some point. Less is best in my opinion, I think it’s easier to increase nutes when the plant shows signs it needs it VS trying to recover an overfed plant. Just my opinion- I’m by no means as experienced as many many people on here.

Yep, totally agree, I'm being careful at the moment, I know root juice is fine to give them so I've started with 1ml per L and 0.3ml of heaven per L to err on the safe side as I don't want to overdo it, so far she's been responding great to the root juice but only just added the heaven yesterday so let's see what happens! Cheers for all the help sleeper!

Some pest control measures wouldn't be a bad think to have on hand because its outdoors and hydroponic. Neem oil is my first go to for aphids. Other bugs can be stopped with nets or a greenhouse.
