Grow Mediums Nebula Cheese + Alien RDWC Pro (55l pots)

Hey Groff thanks for getting back :)
Ive been checking every hour for your messages..

So here goes.

A couple of my ladies were worse than the rest and really had a stink on when I lifted the lid on there pots.
Id had a fuck up with my intake fan and my room got too hot. I think this was the start, water temp was 24/25c and everything looked ill.

All the plants are off colour as would be expected. These are photo's so Im hoping I just need some extra veg time and all not lost.
I drained the system as you said, made up 3 buckets of water and h202 and put each net pot and lid on top of the bucket and put air stone in.
This washed each plant real good. Each plant spent 10mins at least in a clean bubbling bucket of h202. Shower was not possible. One of my worst plants I chucked out. I still have 7 clones in my cloner just ticking away so I planting a new girl in place.

Then I re-filled the system and put h202 in, flushed out 2 more times.
Now system is full and clean, I did put A & B back in there though (this was Friday).
Water temp is 20c and cool to touch.

Then Ive bought a 50l bin, filled it with filtered water and put it in my grow room to warm up.
Saturday came and my black strap molasses arrived and my Great White powder. No worm castings arrived yet though.
Can not find any locally in garden centres, they just look at me funny. So to crack on I put a big table spoon of black strap molasses and good heaped teaspoon of Great White powder in 50l of water. I know I need worm castings but thought I best get a brew of something on. Ive added 2 air stones and covered with a blanket to make sure no light leaks and keeps warm.

Thats where Im at.
As of 4pm tonight (Sunday UK time) my brew will have been bubbling for 48 hours.
Fingers crossed my worm castings arrive tomorrow.

Do you think my current brew is worth anything without worm castings?
Thanks for getting back, I got all upset and thought nobody wants to help... Sorry for doubting you Groff Miester :)

You did bloody say, from the off as well.
Brew some tea came the cry, my answer... Ive got a chiller, I dont need no tea...
WTF was I on about :(
Just glad these first ladies are photo's and not auto's.

Thanks again.
Over to you in the studio :)

EC 0.5
PH 5.8
Room temp 22c
Temp on pot lid 25/27c
Water temp 20c cool to touch (with chiller)

Ive added another air pump for now. So now I have 2 x 60 litre and 1 x 40 litre pump.
Ive also bought a new 60 litre air pump from Alien, so will set up each row with its own 60 litre air pump.
Also bought more air stones so each pot will have 2 air stones by tomorrow.

Friday was the day of emptying the system.
It took a while to get my ph down but now its stable.
Air in and out is all fixed and everything is settled again.

Girls look OK but not fixed and not thriving.
Will take some pics and post on here shortly.

DI Resin filter I bought has proved to be wank.
After speaking with a few water filter companies I now think I understand water a bit better.
They were saying my water can vary from source many times in a day.

So morning could be softer water and this PH/EC, then lunch time another source of water and different values.
The DI Resin was filtering the water down to zero EC but now its not working as great even though Im on brand new resin in my pressure vessel.

Long story short DI Resin is best suited to the end of a proper RO System for polishing out the final contaminants.
So Im off tomorrow to buy a proper RO System to get my water under control.

Seems like everything is going wrong at once.
Arhhhhh wheres me air pots :))

Damn the torpedoes..... With your spirit you will crush the learning curve in no time and be a wiser man for it.

I was wondering if you have thought about having the chiller outside the grow room to reduce heat?

Hi Corgy thanks for the kind words! :)
Yea this some learning curve... Damm why is it never as easy as we think....

Yes sir the chiller is moving :)
The chiller REALLY belts out the heat.
Its moving this week, same for the air pumps.

My room is pretty much a sealed area, inlet and outlet fans of course.
But I have loads of insulation and ply lined walls.
This is what I need to get through so my water feed and air lines can route back in the room.

I need my trusty diy assistant due to me being next to useless with tools and man jobs.

Morning True .I never used castings & it seems to work ok .I would think using what you have is fine until you get them .
If you have A&B in the res already its prob a good idea too .:Sharing One:

Hello mate :)
Do you get much foam when brewing the same mix as me?
I thought I should see lots of froffy foam if its brewed correctly. Ive got plenty of bubbles and a bit of scum type foamy residue forming on the top but not loads. Will take a pic later

sometimes I get the same thing & no foam.Found adding a bit more molasses the next time did make the brown foam ,so could just need a bit more of that ? Found 1-100 was about right but more than recommended .When adding just 5ml to 20l it didn't froth ,but 20ml to 20L it did .May get myself some castings too though :Cool bud:

Who'd a thought it... Im brewing bacteria mann!! :)
Praying for new white roots

First batch of weak tea brewed tonight. Its been 48 hours since the mix was put on.
Ive poured 1 litre over each pot and the rest has gone directly in the res.

It has to be said that things have improved lots over the last 2 days.
This must be as a result of my res change out and putting each plant in a bucket of water/h202 to wash off.
Smell has gone, roots have SPRUNG into action and everyone is standing up nice and tall.

Wish me luck with the tea.
Its in now so who knows whats going to happen.
Brother Groth will be along shortly and my earth worth castings should arrive tomorrow.
I hope so then I can brew a new batch.
