Hello kind people of afn

Just back to sign this journal off. Sorry I was missing in action..
The website upgrade cut me off here for a few weeks and in a way I was grateful for the break.
I struggled with this grow and the new kit pretty much from the off. Root rot got me early on and from then I was playing catch up.
I started out with 21 plants and ended with 18. I pulled 3 girls down that never bounced back. First off the chiller played up, so I said hello to Mr Root Rot and his slimy friends, I did get this under control in a fashion with tea. However I never knocked it out fully.
Then I had a power cut one night. The power went off and the 21 air lines all syphoned back to the pumps. There was no anti syphon valves on the air lines as I never heard of such a thing and the kit did not come with them. This flooded the pumps and power supply. Then the power came back on, so everything on this circuit shorted out. I had one circuit for half my lights, one for the other half and one for my pumps and fans. The circuit that tripped off was for the pumps and fans. I woke up to my room soaking wet and no pumps or fans running.. It was 50c in there as the lights were all on
New pumps and lots of mopping the rest of the grow carried on ok. I kept up with 50l of tea every couple of days, without this I would have been goosed. The thing with this kit is you can never drain it down fully. Each pot holds approx 3 litres below the 4" connecting pipe and each piece of pipe holds approx 0.5 litre. So with my 21 pots and 1 brain pot I have at least 70 litres of water I can never get out. Unless that is I want to dismantle the system every time I need to change the res. Also this being at the lowest point in the system, the water holds all the gunk and crap you want out if something like root rot is around.
The Nebula Cheese was by far the most stinky weed Ive ever grown or seen in my life !! Ive read about filter killing strains before and thought 'oh yea' but man alive this shit was crazy. It should be illegal its so smelly
It showed sparkly crystals very early in flower and this just increased and increased as the grow went on. I didnt use silicon for some unknown reason. I think I was warned off for some reason or another but the plants were weak and all fell over and some even split off the main stem. Even with all these issues I managed 8oz per plant on average and the quality was outstanding hard nugs of joy. Ive pretty much always grown Dutch Passion in the past and this photo variety Cheese was very different. I fim'd the plants twice, so sent everything wide. This strain is not tall but man did the ladies fill out.
I think if grown again I could easily double what I achieved on this run.. Seriously this strain is strong in every way. I would not have been surprised to see the odd hermi with all the stress and commotion going on but the strain was solid and stood up well.
