YES! Just a few drops! Some nasty stuff H2O2 is! A little goes a long way! It works great in a rez for cleaning and clearing the nasties! Root rot, no problem H2O2 to the rescue! just a few drops to a gallon of water is all it takes. Glasses would be a safe move too! Cant be too safe around chemicals! I have not done DWC yet, but been reading up on it and have this 5 gallon bucket calling my name! Some will argue the point of hygrozyme is better than H2O2 and vise versa. I am leaning toward the H2O2 side myself, but everything you read on it states a little goes a long way, plus it puts more dissolved oxygen in the water. It is essentially a non watered version of hydrogen peroxide! But some nasty stuff to say the least. Defiinately glove up while using it!:thumbs:
Since the 35% H2O2 is no longer available for most people, the strongest stuff is 12% by law, and that is not that "nasty". Check the strength before use, if it is only 3%(this is the solution used to dab wounds and gurgle for white teeth), then it will take more than a few drops to do the job.
H2O2 has been known to be used in aquaculture to keep the fishes alive during prolonged power failures. I would pour in 5 g of potassium permanganate, leave for 3-4 hours with the pump running, and then apply the H2O2. The purple color disappears like magic and you know the system is sterilised.
What is the total volume/how many liters in the system and do you have a filter/foam block to catch debris?
I hated H202, did nothing... for me, hands down the best preventive and slime-destroyer was making some tea. Its easy peasy to make, extremely cheap, 100% natural and non-chemical. No brainer.

I just use a great 100% worm casting, blackstrap molasses or 100% natural honey, agro-grade bacillus, a super good airpump and a little water-heater (too often overlooked and far more important that all those products listed there).
true, I was super super intimidadted the frst time used the Alien. I had never done hydro before, in fact, I had hardly had a handful of complete grows (1 in soil, 3 in coco IIRC)... You've done NFT, this is going to be peanuts for you. It was really easy and intuitive!
Multiple top-up rez is illogical here, especially with clones. If it were multi-strain, then yeah. The only downside is in fact disease that would spread... But if properly prevented, this system is brilliant and will run weeks on end without assistance.
I guarantee you it will not leak!! Just tighten those fittings nice and snug and get rocking!

Dont know what active tea is brother?
Im planning on using House & Garden nutrients and keep things simple as possible.
Ive got a chiller, forgot to mention that in the set up list above. So hopefully with the chiller doing its thing, root problems should not bother me.
Whats this tea then?
The Heisenberg tea recipie, has a superb rep with DWC culturists True........

Bacillus subtilis, Paenibacillus polymxa, Bacillus circulans, and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

The system comes with 2 return pipes back to the brain pot and both have filters.

See the grey bit just sticking out of the 4" pipe, that little fucker is weeping. I called Alien and apart from sending the whole manifold back there is nothing he can do.
Ive bought some No Nails under water glue, comes in a tube like silicone. Its had a right good dose and seems to have done the trick.

Little update for you.
Everything is finally set up. All the air lines and air stones have been cut and fitted. What a pain in the bollock that is!
Ive filled up the system again and this time no leaks. The odd tank manifold here and there needed and extra turn to make extra tight but all is running and bubbling lovely
What the system didnt come with was an easy quick way to empty everything down.
Alien say pull the feed pipe off the chiller and use the pump in the brain pot. Fine but not when something is leaking and your in a rush.
Pulling 20mm pipes off that are well well stuck on is no joy. Again not when you have a leak or something is going tits up.
So I bought a 20mm T fitting and x2 20mm taps. Ive cut into the pipe that feeds the chiller. Fitted the T and put a tap on each end.
Now I can turn one valve on and the other off and quickly empty my system with no drama.
System half full and running some H202 round for a mini clean.
Then flushing this away and will fill up ready for the ladies tonight.
My question is how close to the bottom of the net pot do I set my water level?

If we want CO2 in the room for the girls to grow, do we want CO2 in the water as well?
Ive got air lines in every pot, is this to increase oxygen in the water or CO2 ?
I ask this as Ive bought some CO2 bags today to hang up in my room.
I know there not great but gotta help eh
Now these CO2 bags are hanging in my room and my air pumps are also in my grow room.
So am I now pumping more CO2 round my system when it would be better for cleaner more oxygenated air?
I can move my pumps out of the room if needs be.

All plants now transplanted into the Alien Pro. Some of my clones had roots 12" long.
Looks like there in shock a bit, I suppose Ive upset all the roots with the clay pebbles.
Half have already put out new roots and some in the res.
My DI Resin filter has expired, typical I only found out after I filled my 500l tank.
Apparently the resin lasts for so many thousands of litres. Fresh filter resin bought today from grow shop.
Got half my lights on and all at 600w. Room is nice and steady with temps and humidity.
I will change out the res tomorrow when the new filter resin arrives. Then I will be back on EC zero water.
Ive been flapping around all weekend but finally all the girls are in and settling down nicely.
