If I were needing nutrients, wouldn’t my runoff be showing a low PPM instead of a high reading? Or is that not necessarily the case?

Correct from what I understand. At this rate you might be looking for a ppm of around 1000 give or take 100.

If it needed more, in theory you should see a lower number coming out than what goes in.

No change may mean that the plant is not trying to take up any nutrients and could indicate a pH issue and lockout.

a higher reading going out than going in means there is a build up of salts in the root system. You have to use it or lose it.

Well I’m watering with PH 6.8 and I’m getting PH 5.6-5.8 coming out. I’m watering with TDS PPM 58 and no nutes to drive it up and getting 1100+ coming out.

:yoinks:

Maybe the PH buffer in my soil was just problematic in some way, as MoG suggested, and I’m seeing some different issues because of it. But her environment is good, her light is good and I think her water is good. Dunno, but I think she’s looking mostly strong and she’s sure as hell growing quickly. Can’t wait to see how she looks tomorrow!

Same here!

I have 1.5 bags of FFOF remaining, but I recently bought Build A Soil's version 3.0 soil to try out. My thinking at the moment is that I will grow 6 plants next round in a soil side-by-side, so three strains, 1 seed from each strain in FFOF, another seed from each strain in 3.0. I'm not trying to prove or disprove any hypotheses, but rather, just want to see whether there is any indication that plants thrive better in one soil vs. the other.

I'm struggling a bit in terms of picking which strains to grow next though.
I wanted to do that too, i like doing side by side comparisons.
Tag me when you do this ;)

My next grow in the 2.3x2.3 I'll do a RDWC with MC and a side by side with ffof with MC and in my 4x4 (be here Tuesday :D) I'll be doing 3-4 5 gallon fabrics in ffof and I'll top dress with Buildaflower and Craft blend with some barley straw mulch. After these plans are done then I'll start doing more side by sides ffof+MC vs ffof+topdress, RDWC vs Kratky and so on hempy pot vs autopot.

I have to learn how to grow 1st haha

My ppm on all 4 of my plants today was 1100+ ppm and its 6 week old used soil, I'm not sure if that is the MC build up or just the leftover ffof nutes and my ph coming out was about what i was putting into it, not sure if that is bad or good just noting my findings.

My woman is going to use miracle grow on her auto im giving her to grow. When i told her cannabis people give the evil eye at miracle grow she wanted to use it even more
LOL! My neighbors used it last year on their outdoor grow...................and some other JUNK. Glad I didn't get offered any! LOL!

I think my girls are all looking pretty good today. Took my big girl out and snapped a pic in normal light to show her real color. The lights always blow her out and make her look yellow. I have no idea how I’ll ever open her up much. She’s a low, thick bush. :smoking:
