Day 7. I watered my PP this morning, and I may have pushed it by a day too much. Or maybe I was right in the sweet spot. The only thing I’m sure about is that I didn’t water too soon.

So far I’ve just been watering with straight distilled water, which is reading 6.2 PH. Tested my runoff today and it was 5.7. For future watering, I’m going to mix distilled and dechlorinated tap water and try to get it to 6.4 or 6.5. I also conditioned with Fishsh!t for the first time today — about 3 mg in the 3-gallon pot.

This is also Day 7 that my Vision Seeds White Widow beans have been in the soil, and that after a 24-hour soak in distilled water. No signs of life. How long do you guys let slow-to-germ seeds go before pulling the plug? I figure I should probably at least give them a couple more days. It’s worth noting that I have a third WW seed that did not germ in a moist paper towel. Maybe they’re just bad seeds.

Speaking of which, I think I’ll listen to some Nick Cave this morning. Hope you’re all having a great day!

Day 9 and she’s working on her third node. Feeling good about her progress. It’s exciting watching the first fingers form.

I turned the SP3000 up to 55% today.

I dropped Fast Buds Northern Lights seeds in each of my two 5-gallon pots today. My original White Widow seeds have done nothing, and I placed the new ones a couple of inches off-center. If I end up having two seedlings in either pot, I’ll just decide which to keep. Better than having nothing growing.

If/when my other seedlings pop, I may try to move them all the way to one end of the 4x2 and put Violet all the way to the other, and lift the side of the light above the seedlings a bit higher. Not sure if that’s necessary, but I’ll probably try it.

This experience so far is a great joy to me and feels meditative in many ways. I suspect that will continue as I get into LST and other more hands-on elements of growing.

For sure. I've gotten into using a turkey baste to water mine so I can pend more time and get the water/fert dribbled in just right.

Looking great!!!! I think you could probably up that light to 75% or so. It’s just now starting to transition from makin roots to makin leaves. It is still makin roots of course but you can see it puttin more energy into leaf produc I would say up it to 75% then in a week or so up it again to full blast! That’s just me though lol

Wow, great growth between day 7 and day 9! I'm with derek on turning up the light a bit. Maybe not all at once but everyday you're in there doing somthing just a little tweak on the knob.

Awesome, yeah, I thought maybe I could dial it up even more. I think I'll take y'all's advice.

But then would you turn it down again if/when my other seedlings emerge? Or maybe just lift one side of the light like I mentioned above? Will be fun managing light to plants in different points of their lives. I suppose that'll be a part of most grows that have different plants and strains!

What height are your lights? If any thing I would just raise the light and inch or two. I am guessing you don’t have a PAR meter huh?

Nah, no par meter. They're at 14" above the top of Violet right now. The Mars Hydro suggestion for the seedling phase, which I've been following to date, is 50-75%, 12-18 inches above the canopy. I figured I'd start at 50% and 14" and adjust from there. I think I'll just scale the light intensity up a bit each day as planned, and maybe raise it a bit on the side with the new seedlings until they get moving.

Yeah I would go up to 16” and 65-70% power
