Grow Mediums Mom's AutoCob, AutoPot, AutoMazar, MegaCrop Grow :-)

Question for the masses. I of course had to turn on my carbon filter and fan as ladies are starting to stink.
I noticed the smell coming out of my hose is rather, funky.. kind of an earthy, old log cabin not so great smell. (I have not exausted it out my window yet...waiting for some parts from amazon) I dont ever remember this happening. I put a new filter pad over it but air coming out still smells. Is it time to replace charcoal or something? I never have.
I had the same thing with last grow as the filter was almost a year old. So replaced it with a new one.

I love it. I just went into the tent to peek on them and they have already drank their 2 gallons and gotten larger. woo hoo!

Lady one is still suffering with her spotty leaves here and there.I have the funny feeling it IS a ph fluctuation issue with calcium def. because she is in half soil & half coco getting +/-5.9ph water. Her sisters are in just coco and seem fine. Oh well, going to ride it out.

I hate to be the giver of bad news....... But to me that looks like "Spider Mite" damage.....

Can you get a close up pic of the leaf ? Do you have a microscope etc ?

I had a cheap scope but it died on me. Why would 1 have it and not her tent mates? can that happen? I do have neem oil spray here. If i gave her a few sprays and she didnt have mites would it hurt her?

Yep, sounds like the filter is shot.

Need oil spray won't hurt them, but not best to spray buds. I put neem oil on a small sponge, and literally wiped each leaf one time when I had that issue. Pain in the ass, but it worked like a charm.

Flip the leaf over and look at the bottom. Does it look anything like this? Also look for webbing, won't be like spiders it will be between the veins, and often at the base of the leaf where the petiole attaches to the leaf. It looks a bit suspect, but I'm not certain. It doesn't look like Ca deficiency either tho.
Look over every leaf as you want to catch it asap, they took out my plants in three days. Don't want to scare you just be vigilant!

Yes it happens, especially early on. They seem to stick around on a plant they like the taste of.

Then they start to branch out, you may be lucky and able to treat it locally.

Sorry to add I know that's the top not the bottom, but you will see them there first. Size of a pinhead or smaller so you have to look very close and grab a cheap scope if you can.

Time to replace your filter. Exhaust from charcoal filters should have no smell at all. For example, all winter my tent has exhausted right into my living area, for the heat, with absolutely no smell.

The "filter pad" is just a pre-filter, to prevent larger particles/dust from being pulled in and eventually clogging/degrading the charcoal doing its filtering.

I suggest, don't buy a cheap filter, get a good one at a good discount online (ideally, with free delivery).

OK>>>>> thanks guys. Going to order a new filter at end of week when I get paid, and right now going to get my moms ultra magnifying glass she reads with and go inspect top and back of leaves closely.

xoxoxo
