Grow Mediums Mom's Autocob, Autoflower, Autopot Grow

Res and airdromes on. It is not a proven theory yet. I am waiting for the bucket to lighten up and see If the leaves come back up. No yellowing, just limp leaves.
When do you get too much? After the res is turned on? or when you hand water?

Once the airdrome and res are on then the coco can be wetter than you think. The roots are sitting in water with a constant air supply. Sort of like DWC.

MassMom, would this be your first grow with these pots? When I got mine, I found a shit load of the holes in the bottom hadn't been completely punched through. I had to cut the outline with an exacting knife. Maybe you aren't getting enough water through the pot??

So is there any negative to using perlite with coco? I already have mixed mine and ready to use. But I have a couple of coco bricks left that I can use instead. Would like to know the answer to this before I pot up as they say.

I can not say perlite is bad mixed with coco. Hans bricks and others feel it adds nothing to the media. perlite is used to hold water and to make the media not to compact and or "solid" like clay. Coco in my view does not need either.

Then add pop22 who knows water can stop wicking when it runs into another media in your pots. Hell try it and then report back yur results. We are all here to learn and to help. It is up to each to find what works best for them. There is no perfect way to do this. Ittakes trial and error and listen to others. Even tho at times they differ in opinion.

I would tell you it is a good time to buy Bitcoin, others will say it is a fool who would be buyers. Nothing is clear cut.

There were several grows made with different substrates when these were first used by several people here, not me, and results documented. How are they looking since the watering?

This is an example of why you shouldn't put pebbles, etc in the bottom of a pot. Water resists flowing from one medium to another, especially when there is a large difference in particle size.
Also, I water my pots well about 3 days before I transplant. You should only then have to water again maybe twice before starting the res. I water with about a quart the first time, then 16 oz the next
THANK YOU. when I first started the autopot dudes INSISTED that I had to have the clay pebbles in the bottom to HELP the wicking. sigh. live and learn.

Do you think there is too much perlite? @MassMom the perlite was evenly mixed with the soil, correct. And you put no lava rock in the bottom around the airdrome, correct?
I put the root control disk gold face down, then 1" clay pebbles on the bottom, and then filled with a 50/50 soil to perlite mixture.

Yes thank goodness we live and learn. I would say all you need to do is either water by hand when they need it. or water by hand and also use the res. You may find that with the top feeding the wicking may find its way to do some wicking. Either way it is not turn of the lights, he party is over. Most hand water their gardens. The Auto pot makes that less of a duty. So others may have thriller own opinion on this topic.

@pop22 thanks for your help.
