Lighting Modular Cree COB build

Yes, just get them. Its a great all around cob

Thanks a bunch @Ozone69 @Dudeski

Yeah A model sounds neat, Im sure its not that bad to adjust if its the driver is placed with it in mind.

I got quoted for shipping to northern europe $40 without heatsinks and $70 with. The guy Jerry email is jl@kingbrite.cn i hope its ok i post it if not just tag me and ill edit post.

What about cxb3070 vs 3590 theres quite a difference in price, is the 3590 worth it for the average small scale hobbyist?
King bright is legit. One thing to keep in mind is the 3590's will be dropping in price very soon and citizen cobs are looking like a better option as far as price and efficiency. Clu048 1212 are 13usd with a holder and the clu048 1812 is 19 with a holder. But the Cree is still an amazing cob, 3070 is still being used and also a very good option big being older it's not as good as the 3590

I think I have ordered from just about everyone selling cobs lol. You shouldnt have any problems with Kingbright. As for the cob tempersture or cct that depends on your situation. If you have designated veg and flower rooms or tents then I would mix them. A lot of people do the one room or tent thing and 3500k is the best compromise for both veg and flower. Where both veg and flower combined will miss a little but be the best spectrum in one cob. I have a pretty large setup and its perpetual so I do have 5000k in veg and 3000k in flower but also have a lot of 3500k in both places too.

Mixing temperatures in my eyes isn't the solve all solution to the problem either. Feel free

I just received another email reply from kingbrite, in October they will have Citizen cobs to. I guess ill just hold my breath a bit, the 1212 and 1818 ones seems like a helluva bang for the buck!!

@Dudeski @Ozone69 Will 6x 3590 @ 49.5w each be sufficient for covering my 120*120 tent you think? Is it comparable to 600w hps?

168 PAR W * 4,65 = 781 PPF (1m2)
781 / 1,44 m2 = 542 PPFD

With 6 3590 you are at 542 PPFD. Lower end. You can up to 900-1100 (maximum without CO2).
Drive them at 75W each and you are still 50% efficient. With higher output and only 6% less efficient.

@Bum

@Bum , I am using 2 cobs per plant. I think once a plant gets bigger it is necessary to cover it all.

As Konop said, it's at the bottom ppfd levels but still decent. I have 6 of these in a 120x60 tent(half of yours) but I dim them, usually to around 70%.
For your tent I think 9 cobs@50W would be perfect and will outperform a 600W hps easily.
Usually these cobs deliver more than 1g/W(up to 2g/W), so expect a big harvest if you have good growing skills.

Cheers

Hey man. Do you mind explaining the numbers a bit so i can crunch them on my own?

how do u calculate ppf per 1m2?

168 par W=300w cobs at about 50% efficiency? whats the 4.65?
