Sure is a bold statement from someone who has no posted grow journals. Some of us prefer to feed our plants what they want, and need, rather than what some company decided would be best. When you have plants yielding 3 oz in one gallon pots, I might pay more attention.
The only reason I even responded to your post, is because I was offended, by your blanket statement.

he quoted his experience with miracle grow. that is better than bashing people using a product. mg bashing is bs honestly. ive seen people grow nice plants with EVERY nutrient line out there its all the same. N P and K with trace minerals.

That would be awesome to only have to water twice every 2 months, lol.

im guessing he meant feed and not water lol if my plants could go without watering for that long i would pay a hefty penny lol

i personally would rather my plant dry out every couple days because that means its using up the water and nutes lol, so idk if not having to water very much is a good thing?

The reason people say not to use MG is because it has a higher chance of stunting your plants which blows trust me, you don't want to waste 2 months growing 2 grams worth of weed, if you were to google "weed in MG" almost every link will advise you against using it, its just simply not the best soil to grow in.

I'm calling BS on this for many of the same reasons as Homie listed. I don't consider myself to be inexperienced since I've been growing vegetables and flowers all my life, and have been growing autos for going on 6 years. You name it, I've probably tried it at some point. I've also grown my share of African violets so I'm familiar with their needs. They are not even close to what MJ requires. A pH of 6.0 is too low for soil growing and the fact that you've only watered twice in 6 weeks shows a lack of understanding of the requirements for growing autos. While you may have gotten results from using this mix, imagine what you could get if done properly with the correct soil and feed.

Scotts, the parent company of MG, announced last year that they would be entering the MMJ market. I've yet to see or hear of any new products specifically made for our market but when they do arrive I suspect there will be no time release nutes and will probably be similar to other products like FFOF.

use Mg african violet potting mix, only feeds for 2 months, has ph of 6.0 holds water very well. ive had my bhd in a gallon jug only had to water it twice so far and its almost week 6. its also safe to amend the african violet mix with 1 cup of espoma biotone starter plus per gallon and mix also 1 part cow manure per 2 part Mg for added N boost. hope this helps

edit: people that bash mg are just too inexperienced to utilize it efficiently

People use Mg out of necesssity, and is not half as bad as you say it is, it just shows you havnt worked with it enough if you can't get good results with it. To each their own, its up to the grower to decide.
