Lighting Migro Aray

Oh i don't disagree, i kinda like the Aray lights(light ditribution is really nice) and i think the price is good. I just have an issue with that cable and the way he cheekily switched up the diodes. I mean you gotta admit, he goes out bragging about 2.42 μmol/j efficiency and then it's more then 10 percent less in the final product, that's a little shady. I know ppl from some other european forums that returned them because of that. They saw the youtube video, bought the lights only to realize they are drawing more power then expected, sent emails to Migro and were told it's because they use different diodes then the initial run. It's still good efficiency, nothing wrong with it but c'mon dude it's supposed to be 2.42...

The Aray 2,4 and 8 are listed as using Samsung... it seems its just the Aray 3 that has other diodes?

I haven't looked in a while but on the order screen there used to be an option for Samsung diodes or another brand that was less expensive.

I will say my Aray2 fits really nicely in a 2x2 tent.

If I ever move up to a 4x4 I'll definitely look into different companies.

EDIT: the ppfd is great but man, they are at 6"! Freaking close quarters

^^^ I got Samsung Diodes and the extra red for my Aray and it was only around $30 more. I can't complain it's holding up great so far and doesn't seem all that flimsy/cheaply made to me. I love the design personally but I get not everybody likes it and it's not comparable to the top-shelf lights but I never saw it that way from the guide here on AFN i saw it as slightly better then Mars Hydro. My 2 cents.

That drop in efficiency is disappointing. Makes recommending HLG almost default especially with their higher efficiencies. Price on the Migro is placed right there with Mars/Spider/Vipar and all the other low end consumer brands. I'd prefer it to the majority of those low end brands but I don't feel I'm getting enough at his prices.

Imo, the best lights are reaching 3.0umols/j with a broader spectrum than just the added 660-730nm that everyone is doing. Not everyone can afford the best though and the middle range is pricey as well with lights costing $100+ for a 25% increase in efficiency and maybe better heatsinking

CMH with Phillips bulbs hit right around 2.0umols/j with a better spectrum and higher cri and cost almost the same as some of these low end manufacturers. Mars is cheaply competitive from low end to upper mid range but with no limitations, a DIY build would be superior to most lights on the market but would cost $1-200 less with no warranty/IP rating.

Don't be emotional... What false claims ?

I never said it won't grow good weed. I am on Luminus COB's myself guys(albeit CRI 90), they are excellent, i agree, best COB chip atm. But you could have saved alot of money building them yourself. Damn thing cost like 280 euros a piece, i can put together 2 of them on regular pin fin heatsinks for that money, so stop. Overpriced as hell.

This is what i am talking about...

See how it's lifted up ? This look like quality build to you ? That's what happens when you don't use a 2$ cob holder.

Btw opinions are never wrong, they are just opinions. And my opinion is that the Migro COB's were overpriced ugly ass looking lights with questionable build quality. And personally i'd never ever have any electrical equipment hanging from the freakin electrical cable, that's just asking for trouble.
U clearly have a problem with migro!! Carefull u dont cry!! Migro build quality is top notch ,my migro 100 cob still smashing it.and an ugly design u think.but a very clever design I say.these lights are no joke.which u wont know until u grow with migro;) I used to run migro 200 aswell.insane plants.biggest iv ever grown.amazing results.worth every penny I say.and would recomend migro to any cob grower

I try to factor my time into DIY projects. Alot of people are not good at factoring their time into DIY cost.
