"The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now." as the proverb goes. :)

Get thee to amazon and search: Environmental Factor 4003242 1 x 5 Million Beneficial Nematodes

I add 1/2 tsp to a watering can and empty it evenly over all pots

In early spring time at Big Box Stores and Walmart and evening smaller grocery stores they have what they call Promo Trees - $10-$15 TreEs - Check stock early and you’ll get some good buys - Plant one or two a year and you’ll be surprised 5-10 years from now what you have!

Here’s the update from 10-19, 24 days old now. We decided to put strips of yellow cards in all the pots to monitor and realized the bugs were worse than I thought, I know, you can’t believe it. In just a few days the strips caught 10-20 gnats. Some were clean, a few had 1-2 bugs, and a couple had 3-4. There were also some more on the large yellow card you saw in the previous photos. I crushed mosquito dunks and sprinkled them over the top of the coco and watered in the top dressing with water mixed with neem oil. I also bought some sand to put on top but was advised last minute by my caregiver not to use it so I shyed off.

Each plant was given a top dressing of ¼ cup 50/50 mix of the 4-6-3 and 3-9-4. The dunks and neem oil came after. Then I did some light LST to best of almost non-existent ability, have some before and after shots.

On 10 of the 11 plants I saw pistils starting to shoot out, I tried getting pictures but didn’t realize my camera wasn’t focusing. A couple of the plants on the left side of the tent were getting wind burn so I moved the fans. 1-2 of the plants had some leaf issues as well, one side looked good but the other side looked gnarly, they’re the last pictures.

I told you that the gnats were probably worse than you thought. Glad you are taking more steps. I see moisture drops on some of your leaves. Are you spraying your plants? If so, what with and why?

The drops on the leaves were just me getting sloppy watering in the top dressing. I just ordered some nematodes as well, should be here in a few days. I sent a text to my buddy asking him to raise the light a couple inches. When the nematodes get here I'll go over there to raise them some more and dial up the power.

If you look at pic I blew up you’ll see drop is clear .... @IDontExist - care with water on leaves, it will burn the leaf, just a word of caution!

This is where a PAR Meter, I know I’m pounding the table, comes in handy but with LUX compare reading s a see if it is higher in than local!

Although over lifted she will just stretch!

Good Lick,

Yes, water on leaves and intense light can cause issues. But he said he wasn't spraying. I don't do foliar sprays, but if you do...do it when the lights are off and crank up your fans. Infact I know of a very effective and cheap foliar spray. 1 Aspirin dissolved in a Gal of water makes an excellent foliar spray to combat stress. The Aspirin has Silica in it and will often help when combating pests. Spray right at lights off and you will see a happier plant with better color rather quickly after. Good luck!

I’ll do foliar spray but I turn off lights and spray and put extra fans to dry throughly - I know this will get comments but I’ve even sprayed during flower with Thrive.n and was very pleased with results - but not cheap like aspirin - learned something new, thanks slow!

HEY MOB,
I personally don't foliar spray at all on Healthy plants. I have foliar sprayed in the past here and there in VEG only and only at night with extra fans on. The plant should be dry by morning. I know for a fact that 1 Aspirin dissolved in a Gal of water is very effective on plants that have been stressed out for any reason. Google Aspirin and Plant health if you want to see documents about the topic. I have personally used it in the past with excellent results. In fact @IDontExist , I would highly suggest that you try the Aspirin trick. It is like an immune system booster, and you have had gnats. Anyone that have or has had pests, go buy some Aspirin and spray nightly for a few days in a row. I promise your plants will respond rapidly. Peacez slowandeasy
