New Grower Mephisto and Night Owl in Living Organic Coco

I have my fans on a timer. First four weeks they come on 15 minutes per hour on low. If your environment is good that has worked for me. Full flower I’m 15 on 15 off. Just my method and putting that out there. Saves money and issues. I’ve never had wind burn or weak plants that fell over because my fan didn’t make them strong enough. I’ve had plants that relied on the wall for support and then got lazy. But never had an issue. Wind doesn’t blow 24/7 in nature. Food for thought

Here’s the update from 10-19, 24 days old now. We decided to put strips of yellow cards in all the pots to monitor and realized the bugs were worse than I thought, I know, you can’t believe it. In just a few days the strips caught 10-20 gnats. Some were clean, a few had 1-2 bugs, and a couple had 3-4. There were also some more on the large yellow card you saw in the previous photos. I crushed mosquito dunks and sprinkled them over the top of the coco and watered in the top dressing with water mixed with neem oil. I also bought some sand to put on top but was advised last minute by my caregiver not to use it so I shyed off.

Each plant was given a top dressing of ¼ cup 50/50 mix of the 4-6-3 and 3-9-4. The dunks and neem oil came after. Then I did some light LST to best of almost non-existent ability, have some before and after shots.

On 10 of the 11 plants I saw pistils starting to shoot out, I tried getting pictures but didn’t realize my camera wasn’t focusing. A couple of the plants on the left side of the tent were getting wind burn so I moved the fans. 1-2 of the plants had some leaf issues as well, one side looked good but the other side looked gnarly, they’re the last pictures.

Oscillating Monkey Fan might help with wind burn! Also in second to last pic I see some canoeing on the leaves, a sign the light might be a little close?

Good luck with the bugs.

Peace,
MOB

I like the timer idea, the tower fan in there also has a natural setting that changes the wind speed randomly that I should probably use. I actually thought those 2 little fans oscillated when I bought them. I'm going to get another tower for the other side soon.

I was a little worried my lights could be too close, you can see about where they're at in some of the pictures. They're not dialed up all the way yet, and are still around 25-30 thousand LUX. I can easily back them off and turn them up if that's better for them.

Hard to tell from pics but look up marijuana leaf canoeing?

The Monkey Fans sit on your side poles so they don’t take up any room and are super efficient- Lots of growers use them, think you’ll be happy with and when plants get bigger just move them up your pole!

Thanks man, will check that stuff out. I think I took pictures of all the plants individually so if there's one you might want to look closer at let me know

Nice looking ladies! I also put down strips, but luckily found zero bugs. I'm growing in my finished basement, with a bug guard over the tent air intake. I am also using beneficial nematodes added via watering at planting and every 3-4 weeks after, just in case anything was hiding in the coco.

I saw that too, looks like leaf edges are starting to curl up a bit, maybe just the ones closest to the lights? Might need to back them up a bit if they don't lay down on their own, especially if multiple strains are behaving the same way.

Thanks bro, there's a couple that are hanging in there. Smart move with the nematodes. Wish I would have picked some up when I first noticed the bugs.

"The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now." as the proverb goes. :)

Get thee to amazon and search: Environmental Factor 4003242 1 x 5 Million Beneficial Nematodes

I add 1/2 tsp to a watering can and empty it evenly over all pots

I'm going to read to see if they're ok to use with the mosquito dunks sprinkled all over.
