New Grower Mephisto and Night Owl in Living Organic Coco

HEY MOB,
I personally don't foliar spray at all on Healthy plants. I have foliar sprayed in the past here and there in VEG only and only at night with extra fans on. The plant should be dry by morning. I know for a fact that 1 Aspirin dissolved in a Gal of water is very effective on plants that have been stressed out for any reason. Google Aspirin and Plant health if you want to see documents about the topic. I have personally used it in the past with excellent results. In fact @IDontExist , I would highly suggest that you try the Aspirin trick. It is like an immune system booster, and you have had gnats. Anyone that have or has had pests, go buy some Aspirin and spray nightly for a few days in a row. I promise your plants will respond rapidly. Peacez slowandeasy

Hey Slow,

Call me crazy but I tend to push the limits .....

Had success spray feeding but one has to be careful - As we know spray feeding delivers ,nutrients immediately to the plant ..... Since I was running 24/0 I had to turn off lights during the process or remove plants from tent - when done during flowering one wants to spray underside of the leaves and avoid the buds ..... If you do spray feed make darn sure all water has dried before lights come back on!

Peace,
MOB

Water on the leaves will cause harm during lights on if you have droplets on the leaves causing a lens effect. Optic foliar overgrow can be sprayed with lights on. I usually spray overgrow at lights on. I spray a DIY solution with cal/mg and super thrive about an hour before lights out when they are dropping. Be very careful with the PH of your solution it using aspirin. FWIW I’ll be using my DIY only when this gallon of Overgrow runs out. Just as good imho

Have you used Aspirin before? 1 Aspirin per gal will not make your pH go crazy and is totally safe to use. But always a good idea to check the pH to be safe on any foliar spray. If your plants are kept Healthy, foliar sprays are not necessary. I don't promote spraying your plants unless they need it. And spraying anything on a plant with lights on is asking for trouble, even if they claim you can....why would you take the risk of doing it with lights on? When I see young seedlings with spray on them it makes me cringe. Peacez slowandeasy

1. To ignore a user, click on their user name/profile picture and to the right of the "Follow" button is the "Ignore" button, it's a bit faded out on current light visual color scheme but it's there (and yes, it's on the books to get fixed up with the colors.) You can also go into their user profile and find the same button.

2. A better solution here isn't to ignore users, but to just not post comments in the first place you know that are going to antagonize (especially if done on purpose, which could be considered harassment.) Harassing members on here is a great way to get removed from the site and I know you're all intelligent human beings capable of thought and logical decision making. I also know opinions are like buttholes (we all got 'em) and sometimes they aren't enjoyed by all lol. Let's learn to be tactful and kind to each other, even if we don't agree with what the other person says.

3. I'm going to clean up the past few posts in here. You guys know the drill, this isn't your first rodeo, so let's get along and get a bong.

Apologies to the original thread poster; we'll get this back on track!

:shrug:i thought it was the droplets that caused the damage ? but if foliar feeding they reccommend a sufficicant (sp?) and that opticic folar stuff has a sufficicant built in.
maybe not ?
:pighug:

I originally bought the optic foliar based upon reviewers here on this site. I use an product called overgrow by optic foliar thats is kind of a combination of several of there products. One of those I believe is a surfactant. Not sure if something in my tsp or additive isacting like a surfactant but it does not bead up. Not even a light misty bead. Goes on like a sheet. The only thing that I can see occasionally when using foliar sprays is salts in leaves when they dry sometimes. Nothing strong enough to burn leaves. I find foliar much better for me to get some calcium(nitrogen) to the leaves during really fast growth when they are in the stretch. I spray a heavy foliar every two to three days during middle of the grow to help the rapid growth. I think it’s important that it’s only really on for an hour so the plants can return to transpiring like normal. Seeding I spray for feed and humidity depending. Flower not a chance.

a lot of times foliar can be used to correct a deficiency in a plant in a medium that is not known for a quick response. In my case the deficiency I am correcting is rapid growth. I had four plants today that grew 4” in a day. I thought maybe I missed a week when I walked in after work. All the stretch was pale yellow but still had burnt tips. She’s growing so fast she can’t pump enough up but is pulling so fast she’s gorging the tips. She got a really good spray of my cal/mag/ thrive to keep that growth happy even though she has pre flowers everywhere.

The girls can be hungry little beaches

@IDontExist let’s get some update pictures and see how the girls are doing.

Here are a couple I just had my friend send me. The nematodes are coming Wednesday so I'll get some more pictures when I go to put them in.

New grower so question could be dumb but how does pot get watered with only a single drip or do you have multiple drips and can’t see them or does water spread thru entire pot. Saw multidrip hose like drips, is that what u have seems soil is dry except around stem.

When it gets going it's more of a stream, but still only gets a small area on top yet. They have soaker lines that you can kind of wrap around the plant but I didn't get them because this is the setup they recommended for a 5 gallon pot. Kind of wish I did though because I would like more of the top watered, but it seems to even out pretty well in the pot.
