New Grower Medi's Medical grow

.: Day 74 :.

Things at operation hurry up and wait are running smoothly these days, I can't even really justify this post but for future readers I thought some explanation for the gap between posts might help. Yesterday was the last water and I did a very thorough flush with 2.5 liters per pot. The runoff was around 6.5 so apparently getting away from the bottles is the key to happy plants and happy growers :-D At least for me. Needless to say I won't be using Biobizz any more, I've relegated what I have left to vegetable growing. For context I suspect the chelates in Topmax have been a big part of the problems I was dealing with when I switched to Biobizz. I know a bunch of other people have had great success with them, but it's not for me.

On the topic of nutrients, I've ordered some cocogro and some red wigglers and picked up a tub that I'll be turning into a vermiculture bin when it all comes in so I'll be making my own worm castings!! I'm pretty excited, some of you may think I'm nuts but I've been enjoying my soil endeavors at least, if not a little more than growing. When all the components to make organic soil go together they smell pretty awful to me, but then it melds, composts, mellows, and within a week it smells like the cleanest most pure smell in the world. They need to make air fresheners that smell that good!!

So anyway the girls are both doing great, Thing 1 is rock hard, has a nice pungent and sweet smell, and is frosty as all get out while Thing 2 is fluffier, smells like a combination of coffee and oil, and is at least 3 or 4 days behind Thing 1 in terms of trichome production. Speaking of trichomes Thing 1 has picked up the pace on turning the trichs white, though it isn't all the way there. Also I've just started to see the calyxes come through in the last week or so. All in all things are going smoothly and progressing well. I can't help but wonder though if Noob was close to the mark when he said a month, I'm thinking 3 weeks, but at the time I thought more like 2, but I don't know Thing 2 may go the whole 4 from when he said that. Anyway I've made you all sit through a long enough wall of text, I'm going to throw up a bud shot at 20X as well as a trichome shot at much higher though I'm not sure because I used both a lens and a digital zoom. Hope you're all busy growing giant knock out nugs!! Peace.

Those trichs already look nice and cloudy!!!! I can't believe your pistils haven't all started to at least turn a bit more than they have at this point? Not like it matters; it only means your plant is gonna get bigger, and those buds get fatter :)

Jealousy is a mufuka, and I'm jealous as hell!

Yeah that bud is actually fairly cloudy, but there are others that aren't quite there yet, I chose to take a trich shot of this one because it came out really nice compared to the others I took, I only post a couple pics a day but I take closer to a dozen most days and choose the best. The bud shot is actually a different bud than that one, both of these were two of my smallest because I found it easier to frame them. I'm not too sure what's going on with the pistils maybe they'll turn the rest of the way in toward the end which will be in about a week!!! I appreciate the positive vibes though man, I do think they'll get a bit bigger they're growing some each day.

Jealousy is a mufuka, and I'm jealous as hell!

You're not jealous you're just anxious to be here man and you will be!! I know the feeling though I was really wishing I was at the stage other people were at earlier on. A good piece of advice is to enjoy the ride because every last bit of this grow has been a fun experience!! Thanks for saying that they're something to be jealous of though brother!! :P

Great post, great pics, great looking plants :)

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with your yield ;+}

All the best medi,

steely

Thank you Steely it's much appreciated! I hope you're right about the yield I don't need more than 50 grams to tide me over until the next harvest but I've loved Northern Lights since my very first puff 18 years ago so I'd love to have a good amount around to pull out when I get a craving for that taste. Annnnnd now I'm drooling.

Hey just checking in, thanks for posting the bud shot its what I came to see :) I can't wait to see harvest pics soon!

aww yeah man, thats gonna be a fat little harvest. YUP, we've all been at the Jealous and envy stage looking at other peoples grow...lol.I know it well when I was out..LOL

Im the same way with Snow Bud and original skunk #1 just slammin killer memories and smoke.mmmm, yeah imma have ta get me sum snow bud seeds.

.: Day 75 :.

Still not much movement on the maturing process, I'd say roughly 50% or so of the pistils have turned, I only quickly checked the trichomes on a couple of buds of each plant and they're clouding up nicely. The buds themselves seem to be slowing down growth, and the leaves are starting to get a good fadel. I gave them another drenching today, about 2 liters a piece, and decided since the soil is the same soil it was yesterday and the water is the same water(RO) I'd skip testing runoff this time. The smell is picking up and I love having a carbon scrubber so that I can open the tent all at once and get that *whoosh* of danky goodness. That's all I've got for the day, thanks for reading.
