Mephisto Genetics MCPD_Refugee’s Experiment with DWC and Double Grape

On a side note...at first it was cool “I’m gonna try to grow a decent sized plant for a change.’ Then she won’t stop growing and you think to yourself, “Oh no. What have I done?” Then comes, “Please stop growing. Please. I’m begging you.” Then the “This is so cool. I’m gonna have half a pound of weed’ phase starts. And now I’m like “What the hell am I going to do with half a pound of weed?” I’m gonna have to get creative.
Did you just say “ what am I going to do with half a pound of weed?” In this community, I would image you could rustle up a few mates to help you reduce your storage needs! Not a bad problem to have. Top shelf and this strain makes great extracts. Tinctures, budders and such can go in the freezer for many months. You are all set.

You did what I would have done, major defoliation. She looks healthy enough to bounceback. Hell she may not even have a negative effect she looks so healthy. Nice growing.

Thanks, @Seymourbud. I appreciate the reinforcement. She isn’t as completely healthy as she looks. She’s got some funky pH thing going on in her bucket right now. I’m trying to get it sorted. Luckily, I’m going to be doing a complete reservoir change today.

@BCBudlady - I think under local law, I can gift up to an ounce. I think you’re probably near enough to me. You need an early Christmas present? :crying:

Too funny! Just harvested a Gold Glue, 24 CT and a Witch Doctor and with Mass locals I can store 10 zips. I’m thinking I better increase my consumption to stay within!

Actually, the law is that you can store 10 ounces PLUS whatever you’re able to harvest from your own grows. It’s one of the reasons why it is important to document your harvests around here. Specifically, Massachusetts General Laws ch. 94G s. 7(a)(2) states that you (assuming you are 21 or older) cannot be arrested or punished or subject to civil asset forfeiture for:

“Within the person's primary residence, possessing up to 10 ounces of marijuana AND any marijuana produced by marijuana plants cultivated on the premises and possessing, cultivating or processing not more than 6 marijuana plants for personal use so long as not more than 12 plants are cultivated on the premises at once;”

(I added the emphasis on the word “and.”)

I am not a licensed attorney in Massachusetts, so this is not legal advice. I’m just pointing out what the law says.

That all being said, though, I’m all for you increasing your consumption. :baked:

Yes, I appreciate the clarification. Might be critical to know at some point. Love the growing and having a wide selection so it could get close with good harvests.
My Dad, Granddad and Greatgranddad all lawyers and judges. I eschewed all the reading... pretty dry stuff, but the apple doesn’t fall far.
You are gonna love DG! I just ordered GWK...great stuff. Anything with Grape Crinkle is a frost machine.

Day 68.

I once read that, if you’re seeing symptoms of something on your plants leaves it’s ALMOST never a deficiency. Well, we’re about the point in flower where I usually see something on the leaves. I always assume that it’s a deficiency and throw more PK or Cal/Mag at it and nothing seems to stop the problem. And, it’s happening again. So I’m going to try something different this time.

Let’s Take stock in what we have here:

Light: lights are 14” from the top of the canopy - probably not the culprit this time. I have seen light stress in the past, this is not it.

Temperatures: have been solidly around 73° F +/- 1 or 2 degrees. Probably not my culprit.

Relative Humidity: 43% - 49%. Again...this is probably not it.

pH: I have been closely monitoring this for the whole grow. During most of veg and early flower, I saw slight incremental increases in the pH of the bucket. Now I’m seeing incremental decreases. There’s something funky going on and I’m not quite sure why. Every pH reading that I have taken (2x per day in AM and PM) have been between 5.4 and 6.5. So I’m going to guess that this is not a cause, but the fluctuation is a symptom of something else.

Nutrients: i think that this is the culprit even though I don’t think I’m doing anything out of bounds at this point. I try to keep the PPMs in the bucket around 1300 to 1500. I’ve been using 3.5 g/gal of Mega Crop, 1.0 g/gal of Sweet Candy, and 1.0 g/gal of Bud Explosion. I have thrown in 2 mL/gal of Hydroguard to prevent root rot and 1.5 g/gal of Cal+Mag Pro due to the COB lighting. Starting PPMs of a fresh reservoir are 1350 and starting pH is usually around 5.8 or 5.9. Some things I’ve noticed are that the Cal+Mag Pro doesn’t fully dissolve, leaving particulate matter at the bottom of my mixing jar. I don’t like this and I’m going to change to a 1/2 strength Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal Mag Xtra for a while to see if that helps. I’m also going to take out the Bud Explosion and increase the Mega Crop to 4.0 g/gal to compensate for the lack of extra PK. I’m also going to slightly increase the Sweet Candy to 1l5 g/gal for a little bit to give her a few extra carbs to compensate for taking of a big chunk of her fan leaves. If I see any nute burn, I will back off the Mega Crop and if she stalls out, I may add the Bud Explosion back into the mix.

See...I told you that I don’t really know what I’m doing...I’m just grasping at straws here.

Questions and comments welcome. Happy growing everyone.

 Looking good bro nice work :d5: I stopped worrying about the leaf problem on my plants once they hit a certain age IMO your nearing the end if she her up take has slowed I say 3 more weeks tops

Agree with @Dabber , you are on the home stretch. Don’t fret about the fans. This girl will be getting in the jars in time for Christmas gift giving!
