Day 72

I’ve been stranded on this island for what seems like an eternity now. The only other life around here is...wait. Wrong journal. Heh heh.

Okay. Perhaps I am impatient or impertinent or something, but this is not finishing off how I expected it to. For one, the pH is not holding steady in the bucket. During the veg phase, it would slowly incrementally rise...just 0.1 per day. Now that we’re in flower, the pH is slowly incrementally lowering...just 0.1 per day. My flowers are not bulking up the way I’d like them to. Perhaps that’s because this is a sativa pheno, but nonetheless, I’m staring at a tent full of smallish wispy buds. The only consolation that I have is that they’re slowlybulking up a small bit.

I decided to add in a little Bud Explosion. I added 0.5 g/gal. Hopefully that will be okay. I also added 1mL of pH Up to the 2.5 liters of full strength nutrients that I used to top off the bucket.

Sometimes I know that my ladies are not this or that. I just Can not see any development with them .

Then I realize that I see them too often. 3-4 times a day is not uncommon. I see your lady bulking up , tho be it at their own pace. Too bad they are so damn independent.

Yeah bro don’t worry I always say the. Same thing then bam they fill in. Keep your eye on ph and you’ll make it to the end.

The DG I had that was more sativa took longer and filled in late. Never got super dense. Gonna run another very soon too see what I get. Seems everybody gets shorter slightly more indica plants.

Hey bro, I may be able to help.
•how long has it been since you did a full res change? How often?
•1800ppms could be considered pretty high. You may see better results with a reduction in overall ppm. After all, it’s not how much we can feed them, but how much they can absorb/ use. I personally try not to get over 1300.
Big thing- ph should stay around 5.5 at all times. Over 6.0 is trouble for hydroponics.

I do a full res change every Saturday. I try to help the PPMs between 1300 and 1500 for this stage of flower. Right now, I’m trying to keep the pH as close to 5.8 as I can. If I had to venture a guess based on past experiences, I’d say it’s probably a too much of either PK or Cal/Mag.

In my past grows big in soil and dwc- I useful calmag at every watering. Because I had read, and been told this was necessary. This grow- my plants are perfectly green as never before. I happen to be using almost no calmag at all. I wait til I see yellow lower leaves that won’t pull off to add cal mag now. Seems to have worked! Ive actually only added a half dose cal mag to my alien vs triangle plant in dwc one time this grow.

For the next res change on Saturday, I think I’m going to remove the Cal/Mag and bump the Bud Explosion back up. I probably only have a couple of more weeks left at this point - three if I stretch it - so I’m just going to push this big ol’ gal over the finish line and regroup for the next grow.

Speaking of next grow, I’ve been thinking about it a bit. I never used to be a planner. I was a happy-go-lucky fly by the seat of my pants type of guy. Going to law school and practicing law changed all that. Now I plan things six months in advance. It’s kind of annoying sometimes. Any way...I digress...I probably going to start my next grow in March. We’ve got some apartment maintenance coming up in January and February. Since the apartment management company isn’t exactly on board with my private little grow op - in fact I can be evicted for it - I am going to lay low for a few months. Then, when I start back, I think I’m going to run 4 or 6 one liter hempy bottles. I placed a couple of orders with Mephisto - one the week before Black Friday and one on Black Friday. I can’t seem to help myself. Anywho, I’m up to 270 seeds in the collection and a 2x2.5 tent. So, I figure that I will be able to grow out several and test them. I know I can grow in small bottles quite well. I can get between 1 and 2 zips per bottle. I know 4 will fit well. 6 might be pushing the space limitations of my tent. I would like to have a little smorgasbord of weed at my disposal.
