New Grower MCPD_Refugee loses his virginity to White Widow and Blueberry

I'm going to try not to be long-winded. Ok. So I'm pretty OCD about planning and I've been thinking about my next grow. I want to mix things up a bit so I have questions:

I want to run a Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush. I also want to get something from FastBuds. I was thinking that they all sound great, but here's the ones that sound best: West Coast OG, Crystal Meth, LSD - 25, and Pineapple Express. I'm having a tough time deciding, but I'm leaning towards the WCOG. Any thoughts or not so gentle pushes are welcome.

And @Frankthetank, earlier you recommended fabric pots. Any particular brand? Any particular feature I should look for? And anyone can feel free to chime in on this one, too.

Thanks for any help you can give folks.

Peace,

Refugee

I know someone doing the WCOG but it's not done yet. I have a seed waiting to drop. LSD-25 has a lot of good reviews, too. Decisions decisions...

No clue about fabric pots, sorry!

I think I get close to making up my mind, then I read another grow journal, and I say to myself. That one looks good, too. I swear I have the attention span of a nine-year-old all hopped up on sugar.

You and me both! The only difference between what you want to plant now or later is a couple months. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.
You could do a fruit medley with BBK and Pineapple Express, or two Kush with WCOG & BBK, or a sativa'ish Crystal Meth & BBK, etc.
I would probably lean toward a sativa & indica. BBK came out pretty couchy/relaxed for me, but I may have let it go too long.
I'm probably making it worse! [emoji23]

Day 18

Time for my weekly update. Things are slow and steady in the cabinet. Topping the Blueberry did not slow her down at all. Secondary growth is kicking in. The White Widow is chugging along slower than the Blueberry but growing nonetheless.

The pots are still drying out, so I've been giving them 75mL of pure water in the evenings as well.

Monday, I'll up the nutes and the water.

Here are the photos:

As always, thanks for stopping by. Drop a comment or tell me I'm screwing things up or ask a question.

@Smorf, those pots seem shallower than some of the others I've seen. I would imagine the help keep plants smaller too, don't they?
I think most fabric pots will perform closely but some might let roots grow through easier for transplanting directly into the ground and let more airflow pass through the fabric in general. I use their half gallon pots for my micro grow and they work good for me and ive used the same half gallon pots to plant tomatos directly into the ground and they performed well. I also grew peppers in those aunt ruths pots and tomatos in smart pot brand fabric pots, both in 3 gallon pots and they all did well.
The aunt ruth pots look like they are less restrictive of roots and air but i had tap roots coming through the smart pots brand too. I think aunt ruths are cheaper though.
I have not tried transplating smart pots brand directly into the ground but i bet they would work too just like the aunt ruth pots did.

If you need specific dementions i would go with whatever brand fabric pot matches your needs the closest if the aunt ruth pots seem too shallow in general throughout all their sizes.
pot size and genetics both play a role in plant size. A small strain is going to be small even in a large pot and large strains might get rootbound and have issues or just stay small in small pots. Getting rootbound shouldnt be an issue in fabric or airpots because the roots will air prune themselves if im not mistaken.

I hope this helps and makes sense.:pass:

Me to mate, it's like women, you're happy with what you've got, then a new one come's round the corner, and you want some of that too!
Plant's look's great by the way

Quick question: I'm using TaNg's easy auto feeding schedule. I'm also roughly following the water amounts that he outlines on his Dutch Passion Colorado Cookies and Brooklyn Sunrise grow. I think my Blueberry is not liking it too much. Today is Day 22. I'm giving her 200 mL per day. Her color is light green/yellow. This photo is from yesterday.

After lights on, I'm seeing significant drooping. She perks up a bit after the light's been on a while. Her soil is drying out in the top 1 to 2 inches on a regular basis. Am I not giving her enough water? Should I up it? Ive been really concerned about overwatering her. Am I not going far enough?

Thanks and Peace,

A shallow root base certainly does not mean a smaller plant!! Here is a photo period stalk from a root base that was 1 foot deep worked soil
