I'm looking at led lighting for the summer months for a 3'x5' grow area. I grow in a 5x10 "tool room" which is part of the house but not heated or cooled by the house system. The room is insulated but only with thin foam board. I'm currently running a bestva1000 led between 2 400w hps lights mostly for the heat but I fear the window a/c unit I cut into the wall (wife was less than happy about that) will not be able to keep up with even one of those hid lights, the chiller (I do dwc) and the dehumidifier I'll have to run in the summer. I do have a 4" exhaust and passive intake.
I like the reviews on the marshydro lights and the price is right especially now. I've been reading everything I can but all the lighting numbers mean nothing to me, they spin around in my head like an Einstein equation. So back to my question(s). Both the lights I mention say they'll flower a 2x4 area, my area is 5x3. If I get 2 lights I can cover the area very well I think or will it be too much? The price difference is negligible, as a matter of fact the stronger TSL2000 is a few dollars cheaper I think. I don't know enough about led lights to know what the better of these two lights are.

Your space isn't shaped in a conventional manner. I think @MarshydroTina can probably help out better

There are a few differences in the lights other than the wattage but they are very close in price. Mars has a comparison video or something to list the differences between the SP and the TS series. I went with 2 sp250 in a 4x4 tent. 464 watts at the outlet. I thought a few of the differences made the sp250 the correct choice for me. Good luck with your choice.

I just ordered an SP 250 for my 4x2. For a 5x3 I'd get two lights that are meant for a 3x3, which in Marshydro catalog is a TSW 2000.

I have the room for a 5x5 tent, but is there a cost effective way to light it evenly?

Thanks Bong Whisperer, I was hung up on the length and width thing and hadn't consider two "square" lights.

Thank you, I am headed to their site now to find that video

After reading the information on Mars's website it seems the sp250 has some uv & ir LEDs and also deeper penetration compared to the tsw2000 which has no ir or uv but more white which some reviews tout as possibly a better thing. The TSW does offer more wattage. As I'll need two in either case if I want complete coverage....... I'm still not sure.

Go to youtube and watch MIGROW. he does reviews on the sp-250. the ir lights are pretty much for show.

One of the difference between TS and SP is the quality of the driver.
The SP driver is a Meanwell and is better quality.
2 SP 250 in a 3x5 is a bit overkill IMO...

a 3x5 area is a odd size. a 2x4 i would say 1 sp-250 or a 4x4 I would say 2 sp-250 If I were you I would ask @MarshydroTina what she would recomend.
