Indoor Loryder #1 First Ever Grow

Hi Terri... lookin great and yes... both.. just on a compressed schedule and variety depending sometimes reduce nutes to prevent burn.

Here's Fd's fert schedule... been workin great for me.

also.. melted snow is the best! I use it exclusively (or rainwater) as do many other successful growers on here :)

what i mean is that not all autos are the same lol
I have been growing the same genetic line for over a year now
and they all seem like they really like my fert schedule.
This is what i doi break it down as follows
First off let me talk about what i use as ferts. I have a 4 part system that i use and most of this is in the brain so please bare with me as i share this one.
I use FF grow big (hydro formula) Tiger Bloom and then two tea variations. One is high in N for veg and the other is high in Phosphorus when its time to flower.
I apply these through out the grow. I use the FF to get it started.
then i move to the teas and then back to the FF and then back to the teas
So i break it down like this:
FF GB is 3Tbsp/1Gal for heavy feedings. So in my mind this is more than enough for our fave friends. So it states that 2tbsp/1gal is for normal feedings so i use this as my base number. After that i break it down into 1/4
at 7 days i start like this
Day 7 1/4 dose to a gal
Day 14 1/2 dose to a gal + 8oz of N rated tea
Day 21 1tbsp GB and then 1/4 of TB (bringing in the TB)
Day 28 1/2 TB + 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Day 35 1.5 tbsp TB to a gal
Day 41 2tbsp of TB and 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Then Flush till finish unless it needs something at the end.
I think that this is everything that i do like i said i am not sure as this is all in my head. If the plants demand more that i give more this is just something to go by. I usually do not swap in clean water feedings at all over the fert program. I just use the jug then its gone. Now if i start to see over feeding or lockouts ill flush.
But if i keep my water on point i never usually see a lock out or toxicity.
Hope this helps

wow see that was a fast turn around! Your boy looks great, and the baby looks good and healthy as well. Good Job!

Well I figgured I'll keep posting my grows here seems I'm still just learning. I started another seed so I have 2 going in case I get another male. If all 3 end up male I'll know its me doing something wrong. If I'm lucky They both will be female 1 for seed 1 for smokeing. Also as soon as this bag of soil is gone I'll be looking for another kind because plant B seems to have meg difisancy. so it must be the soil. I'm using melted snow still because my ph test still isnt here. hope it will be here this week. with the male i figured i would try LST I figured it was a safe place to practice without wrecking a good female. i think its going good also I may do it with the females it seems to be working very good I know I started LST late but just learning. Also does anyone have a picture that shows a male ready to release pollen I have moved him to his own closet already but want to collect as much as posable also can i put the pollen in a small jar with some instant rice for mosture and keep it in the fridge or is the freezer better. will rice keep the posture out.

Plant A - Male - Day 27
Plant B - Unknown - Day 13
Plant C - Unknown - Day 3

Your males are about ready to pop.. everyone lookspretty good... see the curl on your seedlings tho? (slight downard leaf curl) That usually suggests excess nitrogen and is probably the reason for such a high male ration... good female karma sent bro...

a couple tips from upper management:

Mossys K.I.S.S.
POLLENATION IDEAS FOR SMALL GROWS.
where there is no second room...and you don't want a Full pollenation...here are a few ideas
First of all...
You Don't need the Full male.
If you bring a male up to sex....there are a number of option.
ALL of these need to be done in a warm dry place.
Damp/moisture KILLS pollen.
Take him out of the grow room..place him in another warm dry area..
it doesn't even have to be in the light...he will Start flowering..and drop pollen.
Take him out of the grow room and remove a couple of the long-stemmed flower spikes...
Put in a glass of water..he will flower and pollenate same as Any other cut flower.
Take him out of the grow room...cut him down...
make a paper bag out of a couple of pages of newspaper....
pop him in and hang the Bag up...
in a couple of days he will have shed enough pollen in the bag to make a pollenation.
Manual pollenation is best done with a SOFT paint brush.
Dab the paint brush down into the pistils/bud...like insect legs transfering pollen into them.
Pistils will Normally wizen and start to withdraw within 24 hours..
unless you have a cold set up...and the transpiration in slowed.

Hope this helps and keep the faith!

I'll have to look for reading materal never heard about this before. maybe there is something i can do fast so these 2 are females.

Hope this helps and keep the faith!

ty yes it helps alot i thought i had to let him grow but I can just chop him and put him in a paper bag

Hey terri, they are looking happy, your growing them fine.
Starting seeds in ferted soil does effect your male to female ratio. Which is why i personally don't start my autos in their final container. I usually transplant into amended soil, so it's got allot of nutes in it, not good for seedlings.

Just plain potting mix is best until they are sexed. imo.

Yup... thats what all of us do... plain compo starts... after sex "VERY CAREFULLY" so as not to shock them... transplant to larger container... I use liquid nutrients for everything ATM so I just sart nuting at appropriate times... soon my pots will be recieving composted soil (my own vermiculture mix) and then i will probably not have to add as much nutes...

FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH! ph correct water... 6.3-6.5 flush at least 2X the pots volume through it... probably will take several seprate waterings and drainings dep on the density of your soil.... not sure if they can be saved from "maledom" but flushing is the best bet.

hi sorry to bug again but i want to ask before i do. I got my ph tester and wow it was 7.9. I dont have money right noe to get ph down couse they want 14.00 for a little bottle at the pet store and cant find the gardening lime yet. So I read coffee grounds work. i didnt use the grounds i made a pot of coffee and added alot to get the ph to 6.5 is it ok to do this or will coffee water kill them?

I don't think it will.. Wouldn't quote me though, i've never used it to adjust PH.

Post your results ether way, interested to know.
