Grow Room Ljufmennid cabinet grow // LED - CFL - DWC //

Update on the update:

I went ahead and just pulled the plant and the rockwool out of the net pot as it had nearly no roots or feeder roots

What I found was my worst fear, the whole cube was brown and slimey with brown dead roots hanging from it BUT on the top of the cup or bottom of the stem some healthy white thick feeder roots were emerging so I ripped off until I reach the okey looking part of the cube or nearly all of it and replanted it in new clean pebbles :)

I should have take a picture of it before I replanted it but thought off it to late so here is a picture of the stuff I pulled off the cube and the little that was left off the roots

I know autos hate transplant but I think this might give her a fighting chance and the mold did not smell as terrible as when I have gotten brown mold in my res, this smell was much more earthy so I hope I can get her to kick back but that plant is not going to be big if she survives, or at least sure enough that I am going to plant a new bean

going to set up the new tote for tomorrow and I am going to be planting Auto blueberry as the Polarlight either very likely is going to die or if its as strong as photo. strains then its maybe going to kick back but never reach more then couple of grams, but I am to cheap to throw away the res. water and mix a new one for it so I rather just see what happens :D

I seriously hope this doesn't happen to you again!! So much work into this project. I had the same problem for a while. In fact, I had to switch from DWC to dirt because of it. My cabinet just couldn't give my seedlings what they needed due to temps I think. Or it could have been the strain. Anyways, it's all speculation at this point.

Good luck and I always check the active micro grows so be seeing ya around!

Yeah I had the same problem with my tent and its always the same reason ... keeping the air pump in the same area as the grow and now I thought I worked it out by keeping the airpump right over the air intake but that did not do the trick so I am going to build a silencer box for the pump to keep outside the cabinet and that will solve it like always :)

Hi ljufmennid, Sorry to hear about your woes. I just killed off 8 plants in two runs. The first 4 suffered from what I think was some type of brown algae. The second batch I killed with some bleach. I'd read that you can use in small quantities to shock your res. I must have used more than a small qty. Good luck!

going to have an update today or on the weekend but here is basically what happened !

The plant survived and this is how; 2-3 water chances a week, decreased the strength of VEG. nutrition and increased the amount of root stimulate and Cannazym that is an enzyme formula from CANNA !!! ^^

I manage to save photo. strains before so happy that she also survived BUT in one of my water chances I dropped my EC pen directly on top of my blueberry seedling that had just popped two days earlier :slaps:

So now I am going to wait couple of days while I fix a box outside my cabinet to keep my air pump and hopefully keep my bucket around 20c

I am planning on getting some Styrofoam and insulating the outsides of my totes/buckets to keep the temp. more stable !

Right now I got 3x 500ml yogurt plastic buckets that I keep 3/4 filled with water and in the freezer and drop them every 5 hours into the tote but in less then two weeks I start working again so I need to fix a better solution and I was inspired by /Grey bear Styrofoam cooler boxes he uses for DWC and wanted to try that

I have 2 other ideas I am keeping for the summer, one is getting a computer radiator for each res. and the other one is getting a tiny fridge and inserting two steel coils inside that I can pump the liquid through and back into the res, I want to make a chiller that works for two DWC buckets with different nutrition in it, that was basically the plan with the tiny fridge

Hey man. Cruizin through to see what your up to my friend.
Lookin good man. Sounds like you got a solid setup going on.
Very nice man. The plants are lookin great! :Cool bud:

Update nr. 6 - day 38 Polarlight#2 - day 3 DP Autoblueberry

Avarage temp. 18c to 28c its been very cold here lately
avarage tote temp. 16c to 22c
PPM is at 750 for the polarlight#2

So I have not had time or will to do an update over the holidays as I been busy with family but now its time for some NEWS !

So basically what happened 4 weeks ago was that my Polarlight got root rot from my terrible treatment, I was in a rush to have some sativa ready and can only blame my self BUT with some extra care and strength on behalf of my plant and of course an excellent breed from the people at Dutch passion my plant survived by me cutting away most of the roots, washing the healthy ones and chancing the water and tote 3x a week
now I have run out of Rhizotonic and used a lot of my Cannazym :P

also need to fix a information because I been saying Polarlight3 but I think its actually Polarlight2 but I did get the seeds maybe 6 months ago so maybe its polarlight3 but the packet it came in says polarlight2 ... no idea actually

but here is some pictures and also a picture from the Dutch Passion time-lapsed video to compare my 5 week old super stunted plant to their probably very healthy one, also my plant had been in its dark period so its hanging down a bit and also manage to burn her two weeks ago because I had so little time to fix the res, damn family members in and out the house all the time

1.jpgdp5weeks.png2.jpg

Also I finally manage to stable to tote temperature by using a wooden gift crate I had lying around the house, that sits right over the right air intake and on top of the air intake is an small inline fan that blows the air right under the air pump that sits on rubber bands in the middle, I wrapped speaker insulation around the fan it self and the top off it and then secure that with a rubber band, then the whole inside of the box is also speaker insulation and outside is white mylar to reflect the heat but the front of the box has just speaker insulation to let the air through

3.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

I did put a new seed in the ground two weeks ago and when it was around 2-3 cm tall I dropped my EC meter straight on top of it and killed it
:jaw: .... it was not a good day as I have only 5 seeds in whole and need that to last me until I can travel and buy new auto flower seeds

but last Sunday I put a new bean and the new baby is Blueberry from Dutch Passion and she is 3 days old, she is going in her own tote today when the lights come on again in the cabinet
4.jpg
original plan was to plant this baby in 1-2 weeks but I think I can handle those two now that I stable the air pump temperature and I had planned from start to harvest the sativa dominant Polarlight early because I need as clear high as possible for it to serve purpose as my ADHD medication but the Blueberry is going to be flowered as long as possible, funny that in two months from now I am going to be smoking some cured polarlight bud for the first time

PS:

Also would love some tips one when to chance over to Bloom nutrition and if I should go for a straight chance or partial chance ?

Just a small photo op showing my plant before the dark hours instead of right after :D

IMG_3939.jpg

She is maybe tiny but very bushy and at least alive :D

incridible she could survive what she went through but I should have take a photo under the net pot but so many nice roots pooped out in the last 7-8 days and she is getting ready for a serious growth spurt !

Hey, whats up man?
Congrats on having some of that PL to smoke on now man. Feels good to smoke what you grew yourself.
Sorry about the plants you lost though man. It always sucks to loose seeds. Ive lost my share already. Just part of the game heh. :Sharing One:

I see you use cannabis for ADHD issues. This is one of my medical uses also.
You should pick up some kind of sour diesel auto seeds. Ive never grown the auto's nor smoked...but sour diesel is a great strain for me with that.
Og kush too, and ak-47.. Some early harvested Candy Kush from auto seeds was awesome too.

Cheers man, and karma to your grow..With a splash of positive vibes getting blasted your way.
:karma Cloud::vibes::bump:

Yeah I also smoke Diesel for my ADHD !

But I have not lost a singel plant ;)

that is the same one that was suffering from root rot 3-4 weeks ago but she manage to pull through after I cut nearly all her roots away and then kept chancing the reservoir !
