Grow Room Ljufmennid cabinet grow // LED - CFL - DWC //

Avarage temp. 18c to 28c its been very cold here lately
avarage tote temp. 16c to 22c
PPM is at 750 for the polarlight#2

So I have not had time or will to do an update over the holidays as I been busy with family but now its time for some NEWS !

So basically what happened 4 weeks ago was that my Polarlight got root rot from my terrible treatment, I was in a rush to have some sativa ready and can only blame my self BUT with some extra care and strength on behalf of my plant and of course an excellent breed from the people at Dutch passion my plant survived by me cutting away most of the roots, washing the healthy ones and chancing the water and tote 3x a week
now I have run out of Rhizotonic and used a lot of my Cannazym :P

also need to fix a information because I been saying Polarlight3 but I think its actually Polarlight2 but I did get the seeds maybe 6 months ago so maybe its polarlight3 but the packet it came in says polarlight2 ... no idea actually

but here is some pictures and also a picture from the Dutch Passion time-lapsed video to compare my 5 week old super stunted plant to their probably very healthy one, also my plant had been in its dark period so its hanging down a bit and also manage to burn her two weeks ago because I had so little time to fix the res, damn family members in and out the house all the time

Also I finally manage to stable to tote temperature by using a wooden gift crate I had lying around the house, that sits right over the right air intake and on top of the air intake is an small inline fan that blows the air right under the air pump that sits on rubber bands in the middle, I wrapped speaker insulation around the fan it self and the top off it and then secure that with a rubber band, then the whole inside of the box is also speaker insulation and outside is white mylar to reflect the heat but the front of the box has just speaker insulation to let the air through

I did put a new seed in the ground two weeks ago and when it was around 2-3 cm tall I dropped my EC meter straight on top of it and killed it
:jaw: .... it was not a good day as I have only 5 seeds in whole and need that to last me until I can travel and buy new auto flower seeds

but last Sunday I put a new bean and the new baby is Blueberry from Dutch Passion and she is 3 days old, she is going in her own tote today when the lights come on again in the cabinet

original plan was to plant this baby in 1-2 weeks but I think I can handle those two now that I stable the air pump temperature and I had planned from start to harvest the sativa dominant Polarlight early because I need as clear high as possible for it to serve purpose as my ADHD medication but the Blueberry is going to be flowered as long as possible, funny that in two months from now I am going to be smoking some cured polarlight bud for the first time

PS:

Also would love some tips one when to chance over to Bloom nutrition and if I should go for a straight chance or partial chance ?

If your going to have onbgoing temperature bproblems, and want to continue doing hydro, you should consider a Kartky style bucket. They work, as you can see in my thread on that growing style. My next DWC grow will be all Kratky method, possibly 4 buckets. A couple months away yet, but it will happen.

Worth considering! :Sharing One:

Yeah I am going to see what I do, now I actually got it to stay pretty good but probably going to be hell in the summer but I might actually go for dirt in the summer because I have such a good compost brewing outside ;)

Also thinking about doing 2-4 feminized seeds and flower them straight after 2-3 weeks and get some tiny plants but lets see how it goes, want to at least flower 3 autoflower first

Hey glad to see your plants are doing well, and getting your groove on.
Its a little frustrating sometimes when we run into issues here and there but, thats part of the fun as I see it.
A nice adventure.
If that Polar exress is anything like auto seeds candy kush in its growth style. It stays really squat and bushy for a while..then starts to slow but surely stretch..and gradually increases the rate of stretch. You should be getting some nice buds on her.

JackTheSpliffer grew out the polar express, and it turned out very nice. He did it in soil too. So, you should have a decent harvest off this girl.

She's looking well, ljuf, heat problems all fixed ?

atb,

steely

Yeah kind of, inside closet heat is very stable but the tote has been giving me problems until I made a box for the air pump that sits on its own air intake, did bring the heat down to either 22c or 24c but I want to go lower then that, been thinking about if I could just build a cooler around the pump instead of cooling the water in the tote :)

Friend of mine keeps his in his mini fridge.
He just cut a little place in the magnetic seal for the line to come through without being pinched.
Gives him what he needs.

Update nr. 8 - day 50 Polarlight#2 - day 13 DP Autoblueberry

Now I finally got the res to stay at 19c and max out at 21c with just a single small 500 ml bucket of ice that I put in the water before bed and return them to the freeze in the morning while the environment stays fairly stable around 28c, trick was to move the fan to the other side of the buckets :P

the polarlight girl is finally stable and growing like a demon, those 3 pictures are 9 days of growth

Day 50 Polarlight

I been tying her down and tucking back the leaves after she healed and started sending
down root mass again, its crazy that 21 des I cut away like 85% of her roots and now this again
so I hope so continues to send down more tap roots for all those kolas I manage to dig out ;)

PPM 850 (she not burning and good color so I just going with this)
2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg
she was 13 cm tall when I started tying her down and she is around 10 cm now and
think I am not going to lower her more, just pull down the kolas and keep her even

Day 13

Now here is my auto blueberry, I have her on both well water and rainwater so PPM is 300 but just maybe 50 of those are added nutrition but going to switch her over to rain water, stronger veg nut, cannazym and something good for the roots but not bringing her over 200 ppm, this one should start branching out like crazy soon so its going to be fun to LST her for much longer then I got with the PolarLight and only 2 weeks old and she is already dropped couple of nice looking roots out of the pot but I forgot to take that picture ... sorry :P

8.jpg6.jpg

So now I had this fantastic 27c environment / 19c bucket during the day and 22c / 21c during the night after I chanced the place for the fan, think it was blowing to much heat behind the totes, but this place its now seams to work great with just the right amount of wind for both plants

9.jpg10.jpg

Then lets just hope I can figure out some other tricks when it starts warming up outside and my grow cabinet environment is going to go to hell again :fire:

but I am looking forward to doing a water change, want to take 50% of the water away from the older plant and freshen up her nutrition mix but the little girl is going to get a new mixture and clean the tote, flush the net pot a little bit and put her on cannazym to make sure she gets healthy strong root structure and less chance of getting root slime or rot like her older sister did

now its nothing but  after seeing the girls grow in the last 2 weeks, big one healthy and kicking ass and the blueberry is going to look even better because I am hoping I manage to not stun, stress or nearly kill her like the first one had to deal with

nothing but smooth sailing :D

Yeah now I am subbed on JackTheSpliffer grew and his plants look more then often fucking amazing so I am hoping the best, now I got the polarlight totally tied down and spread out, going to let her grow upwards from now on and probably dont need to tie anymore or dare to actually

hehe yeah now after you say that I am looking around for mini fridge prices :P, lets see how I am will take care of this, going to first find a way to insulate my totes, thinking about making a bag around the tote and then fill it with expanding insulation foam so I have a good 1 inch thick insulation, I was inspired by your styrofoam DWC ;)

yeah well I do need some help figuring out when to move her over to bloom nutrition :P

Been reading that its a mistake putting autoflowers on bloom nutrition to early and I should wait until vertical growth totally stops, she is still growing by each day in height so thinking about waiting until next Sunday and then chancing over, right now its 90% veg. nutrition and 10% bloom nutrition but need some help on "when" to switch them over ... when upwards growth has stopped or maybe she is ready already :D, I still have good 30 cm to go with the height so that is not a issue :)

1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

had some sick plants over the years of growing but never seen any one of them heal and kickback as such a rate as this little auto :D and they tell me that the autos are super sensitive to everything :D

you want to wait till all growth stops then start her on the bloom, what i did mate was measure the at the same point every time and you should see her slow in height then almost stop then it time hope it helps mate. They are super sensitive but try to be at one with the plant think if you was the plant what would you like lol thats all i do.

Looks like preflower stage to me! :d5: I think you would have to try and get less than 30 grams.. You would have to F it up hard! (Joke -- Kind of..)
