Starting Jan. 1, police officers across the state will be required to tell drivers why they’ve been stopped before they can start asking questions. Agencies will be required to track whether officers are complying.
Im in los angeles and they already do this, so I'm pretty confused on what is actually supposed to change.. Do they really not do this in other states? The first thing the cops do when they pull you over is tell you exactly why they are stopping you every single time. I've had quite a few run-ins and never once have they ever just stopped me without a reason..
