When I was doing some catering I had a machine that mounted and toasted a whole wheel cut in half. The little raclette machines like @Mossy is showing are a super fun party food, Grill meats an vegies on top and toast the cheese underneath.

Raclette cheese is amazing, we cannot get it here in the US because it is made with Raw milk, seems some may be getting in? That is irrelevant for me since I can no longer eat cow milk cheese. This is the original and the one you want if you can get it.
they have this thing here raclett......a grill with little tins underneath for grilling cheese....without bread.....
