Had a seed that had sprouted and for the last 3 days it had the seed husk stuck on it. I usually start with giving it a spray of water and half the time it slides right off. That didn't work yesterday or today. So today I got out the tweezers. The whole damn head just fell right off with the gentlest tug.
But, the good news is, I have a Seedstocker Critical XXL that just opened and its growing FAST. Went from package to sprouted with leaves in 3 days.
And my Mephisto Grape Crush finally pulled out of its BS. After it didn't sprout for about 4 days in rockwool, I put it in a paper towel in a ziplock straight on the seed warming mat. 24 hours there got it to pop open. Then I put it into some coco because its a lot looser and I can keep an eye on it. Today its little rooty root was like half an inch long, so I moved it back to a rockwool cube which is what I need it in so I can start it in DWC in a few weeks. Its hard to transplant from coco to LECA without it being a mess and then you get coco in your water.
I was trying to also start a big bud, its a white label from Lindas, its mostly skunk genetics, I was going to grow it for a friend who likes indicas. Well that seed was like half the size of a normal seed so I didn't have huge expectations. It never opened, and it didn't on the heat mat either, so I think its just a dud. The other 2 seeds in the package were normal sized, so I just started one of those.
