Yo growbros....been a while since I dropped into LS. Hope everyone is staying safe.
I need some input if possible. Am planning my next grow right now. Will have a 5x5 and a 4x8.
Will begin with 10 autos in the 4x8. 9 in 5 gallon fabric pots and 1 will be in a 3 gallon Growpito pot. My autos usually finish around late day 80s to early 90s.
When the autos in the 4x8 reaches around day 45, I’ll start 4 photoperiods in the 5x5. 3 will be 5 gal fabric pots and I have another 10 gallon fabric pot that I can either reserve for a bigger strain or split it into 2 x 5 gallon pots.
When the photoperiods reaches around Day 35 to 40, I plan to take cuttings from each plant before flipping them. Hopefully healthy enough to take 5-6 from cuttings each plant. I hope to have an around 50% or more success rate. By this time, the autos are nearing done. Some may even be done by then. By the time the clones are ready for transplant, the 4x8 tent should be empty, hopefully. Even if there are some odd ones that take too long, they can easily fit with some small clones for at least a week or two.
The plan is to veg the clones a bit and flower them all in the 4x8, without further transplanting. Whether or not I take further clones will depend on the quality from the 5x5.
Overall, how far off am I with this plan?
How long do I veg the photos in the 5x5? I’m thinking no more than 6 weeks? Especially since I’ll be using only 5 gallon fabric pots from start to finish, with option of 1 x 10 gallon pot. Don’t wanna mess with transplants. I’m good with watering small plants in big containers.
Will I not be able to get good clones with a 5-6 week veg time?
Assuming I get some good success rooting my cuts (hot/humid weather on my side), how do I plant them in the 4x8? It’s definitely gonna be soil but how big a container?
I only have lots of 5 gallon fabric pots. But I do have 4 x 20 gallon and 4 x 25 gallon fabric pots too. Do I plant 3-4 cuttings each into the 4 x 20 gallon round bags, or do I give individual 5 gal pots to each clone, maybe not potting up fully? I understand the inconvenience of watering so many pots but I’m cool with that.
I have to plan in advance since I’m using soil, gotta mix and cook them a bit.
Really appreciate all the input I can get!
