@Olderfart This might help you find a contractor. The "diamond installers" ,or something like that, will come with a longer warranty and had no problem with the government benefits for us. We went with a Mitsubishi hyper heat ducted system
Thanks for the link, but none of the listed dealers are within a thousand kilometers of us.
Our requirements are specific, we need a forced air furnace that operates on the heat pump until the weather is too cold, and then gas at colder temperatures. One of the problems for the dealers is that the bloody feds and provinces have used different and independent criteria for acceptance of the furnace/heat pump design. Finding a unit that fits both is a major pain in the ass for the dealers, so you go to the bottom of the list when you mention that you need compliance with both programs.
I will refrain from mentioning what I think of the provincial criteria. At least the federal criteria are simple - the provinical, not so much.
