So you put your seed taters in the layers at the edges? That's kinda like the chicken wire and T-post filled with compost that I perimeter planted tomatoes. Made monster tomatoes!

The Gold and Red potatoes will never see maturity. I will harvest them when the size of a quarter "like new potatoes" They will go from the tower to the sink to the fry pan in a matter of minutes. They can be poached in broth and served cold or hot in salads but I just like them with butter and parsley. I have not done potatoes in a tower before. If it works as envisioned I can harvest without getting on my hands and knees.

The russets on the bottom will go full term.
