What he does is charge the high price for the 1st clone and then you can get as many as you want for $30 each. And if something happens and you lose your plants you can get more for $30/ea as long as he still has them. So the white truffle is a $250 clone. So it's 250 for 1, or if you want 10 it's like $520

So, you're essentially paying a licensing fee/breeding rights with the first one.
