Gorgeous! Thought of everything. Will your automation include electricity or gravity feed system? Really amazing, and a labor of love. My peppers are struggling as well.
Thanks for the positive comment @BCBudlady. For now, I will set up two types of automation. The containers on the left with the big tomato plants in them will be gravity fed to autovalves. The trays are ones I made which handle 10 gallon fabric pots. I use the bigger pots so as to irrigate with water only. The water for the autovalves will come from a plastic 45 gallon drum postioned uphill from the greenhouse. It will be kept full by a hose connection and float valve. If the power fails, the drum will last for weeks.

The second system will be line pressure water fed to emitter tubing from an electric ball valve controlled by a timer. I decided against using one of the common solenoid timers because they seem to be relatively unreliable. This second system needs electricity to operate both the jet pump that extracts source water from the creek, and the timer and ball valve. Power outage is not a huge risk here in the summer, so the real chance of serious problems is very small. A short outage will not hurt the raised beds given the long time it would take for them to dry out.

In the long run, I may go to raised bed soil on all sides of the greenhouse, at which point the autovalve setup will no longer be needed. For this startup year, I threw in some autopots to see how they do relative to the raised bed setup.

So go the plans anyway, and we know how plans go sometimes. :pighug:
