One of my friends in KY today posted asking if anyone local to them had leads on rentals under $3k. She's my age, college, with a decade plus at Mutual of Omaha and struggling to find a place she can afford. Rent costs are out of control.

The luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me is buying the house I’m currently sitting in. After going under contract, but before closing, the housing market exploded, and the rental market followed shortly. My ex wife decided to rent and enjoy the “freedom.” Her rent is currently 90 dollars from being exactly twice my mortgage. I’m in a house, she’s in a pos apartment…

Our mortgage is $500 less than our previous rent was. I wonder how much they're renting those shit holes out for now (water damage/mold, roaches, the works lol).
