Well, I've fallen down the rabbit hole of RO/DI systems. Every time I start to make a decision, some new bit of research pops up and ruins everything! I thought I had it nailed down to one maybe two systems but now, buried deep in the reviews... "They don't tell you but, this system will not work well or last with water over 147ppm..."

Hmph.

My tap water is typically 210ppm or so. Allright then. Multiple emails sent off to several companies. See who gets back to me with a decent system and price. I could just spend the $500 on a top bit of kit but the one I almost bought was $65 (mini) or $95 for the larger. Probably going to go with the $250 system instead of the $95 after reading that the filters die with my level of water "hardness."

Do I need a chloramine remover for coco? If I was growing organic living soil then yes. Coco I don't know. Well, I don't $80 add on know.

I think @automan2 is the water specialist guy. Paging AM2. Would love your input if you are the water guy.

Hey @DCLXVI I am by no means a water specialist but i do have high ppm tap water 300-400 ppm. No water quality report that is worth a shit as i live in a rural community. But these are what i have used and currently using:d5:

I first used this one for the first year before it membranes went bad reading >75ppm

I now am using this one mainly because it is what MOG uses it. I have only been running it for couple months now but i do like so far

I’ve used this in the past and everything was great
I'll look into them. This is by far the best CBD flower I've had other then the DP Charlotte's angel that I've been growing for years. But the wife vapes like 0.3gs a day so it's not really great for my time/effort/space to keep growing it, and she's gonna run out before I can grow another, so I'm trying to find options

@Dale's Proper Bud - Thanks friend. Those are exactly what I was looking at, and almost bought. Maybe I'll just give it a try once I hear back from the other companies. I think I'd go for the twist-in 4-stage. It sits between the $66 RO buddie and the full size one.

Sold out on the company site but still on Amazon for $95

Hey hey hey you insomniacs!

Excited to be getting out of the mountains and down to the ocean today! Headed to the outer banks in NC for a few days. Beautiful place! Will get some surfing in tomorrow night, deep sea fishing Monday and some more surfing Tuesday as I probably wont be that functional after boozing all day on a boat! Should catch some mahi and hopefully yellow fin tuna

Its the ADHD lol, unless I can see what "done" looks like I can't work backwards to make a plan to act on  that being said, I did get it all out of the way at least so I could go feel the space lol. Which, sure, only consisted of stacking the stuff I'm definitely keeping to the side and chucking the rest over the doggy gate and into a heap on the other side but its progress and now I can think at least

Texted hubby and told him we're renting a pickup on Tuesday, wheelbarrowing everything around to the front, and doing one big dump run cause I'm tired of the fact that I know its there giving me anxiety.

Lost sight of my friend for a bit but I spotted her again! I think she ended up following the junk pile for now. Hubby will have to deal with the majority of it cause we have a ton of black widows and I'm not into all that lol.

Also, are these potatoes? If so I'm very confused cause I never planted potatoes back here so unless one of the dogs snatched a "ball" from the kitchen trash and buried it I have no clue where they came from lmao!

If they are im not sure what to do with them, since they're pretty much right where one of the beds was going to go

Yes potatoes.

Ours is $110/month but the company that did our install pays us $100/month to have their banner across our balcony facing the main road

Wow what a great deal!

Did you see the story about the guy who had to have his leg amputated and threw a dinner party so he and his friends could try eating it?

Ewww now I am sick.

The tips of new growth seem to be turning brown. Could this be a deficiency? She is almost 30 days old now. It's like she is growing taller, but not wider. And VERY slowly.

If the plant did not go dry? It is usually a sign of too much fertilizer.

This is my first time trying to grow also. I am a total noob. Yea I think I go from over watering to under watering. I don't have a set schedule. This grow has not gone well. I'm only letting her grow now to see if I can get anything out of it and maybe learn something. Otherwise I would probably cull it and start over.

What you need to learn about watering will come with practice. Here are the basic rules: Never let the soil dry out. Soil and or coco can become hydrophobic if allowed to dry. This means it repels water. This in turn will create dry pockets in the soil and the roots and microbes will die there. If your soil - coco have accidentally dried out use a surfactant to help re-wet it. I like yucca powder. Don't let soil remain soggy by watering too much too often. Root rot, damping off, molds, fungus gnats and other problems start in soggy soil. When you do water water the entire pot. How to learn when to water starts before you plant the seed. Fill your container with fresh soil/coco and weigh it (heft it) this is the lightest weight and consider it a dry pot. Now slowly water until the soil/coco will no longer absorb the water and run-off begins; weigh the pot (heft it) this is the maximum water, the wettest the pot can get. The difference between wettest and driest is the maximum water weight, for ease of explanation lets just say the water weighs 20 pounds. When the pot loses 10 pounds (half of the water weight) it is time to water again. Slowly wet ALL of the soil until run-off begins. There is an art to watering.

It's just not a simple thing. I'm surprised some extreme right winger hasn't said Biden was paid off to do all the things he's done since day one on our energy production in this country. Someone probably has, I'm just not exposed to it.

It's just a supply and demand situation. Biden and now the Russian war has the supplies lower. It would not be NEAR as bad if Biden had only left things running as it was. I was paying LESS that two dollars a gallon just before he took office. $4.39 yesterday! :wall:

Ok you two you are getting a little too political

and the president no matter who he or she is has very little to do with oil prices here in the USA. Oil companies are sitting on hundreds if not thousands of oil leases it simply is not in their interest to bring more oil online when you can create an artificial shortage and charge more for what you sell.

Totally different subject, but in one of the new raffles they have a seed cracker as part of the goody bag. Why would I want to crack my seeds?

Seeds that are old or even some genetics like the African Sativas have seed shells that are very tough. Germination rates are poor because the embryo does not have enough energy to crack the shell and water has a hard time penetrating. By barely cracking the shell at the seam it helps the seed to get started. It also speeds up germination on regular seeds.

Hey question…..

If a light disturbing a plant during dark hours can make pollen sacs couldn’t you just breed with a strobe light and ignore the colloidal silver??:crying:
Because stress induced hermies will produce more hermies from the seed derived. CS is a hormone manipulation that does not pass on the hermie trait - unless the plant was already a hermie producer.
