I knew I should not talk about rats. The cat brought one in and it got away from her. She probably did it on purpose so she could have something to play with later

Hmmm. Sounds familiar. My cats (may they rest, or mouse, in peace) brought them in, lost interest, and went out to get a new one later. I had to screen all the furnace ducts to prevent the escapees from making their way into the furnace. The lesson was learned when a (probably) shrew got all the way into the heater in the furnace and we were treated to the smell of incinerating beast for about four days. Had it been a vole (much larger), it would have been a lot worse.

Pass it here! I love it. People just don't understand... You have to eat it outside and open it in a bowl of water. Perfect.
