:pighug: i started seeds but its late in the season, at least i can see how it works and improve for next spring :smoking:
U may still be able to get some tomato’s if u wanna start with small plants from somewhere vs seeds! That shade cloth is gonna give u way better results then we got last year trying to grow tomato plants in 100+ temps and that Texas sun baking them to death! My tomato plants been doing great but started having some branches dying off and I’m thinking it’s gotta be from heat stress cuz they have food and water! Plus the ones closest to fence in side of the house that get some shade til early afternoon aren’t showing any symptoms! :d5:

Well i farted around all day but finally got this thing together and its pretty cool, i am planning out which veggies to plant as it is kinda late in the season but i don't care i'll take clones of the good peppers and start early next spring.

took a video of how it works :smoking:

I make that an herb garden.

@Zeromitch Can the roots from a bottom pot grow up or down into the next pot?

Two or three flavors of mint on the bottom where they are strong enough to compete for root space. Then any combination of companion herbs.

I found this real quick, there is a lot of information about herbs that like or don't like each other

We have herbs all over the yard, front and back.

No, there is a cup in between each pot, when watered from the top there is a hole and it drains down into a cup and when that cup overflows it soaks that layers soil until it drains below soaking the soil below, meanwhile the hole in the cup drains down to yet another pot's cup repeating the process, filling that cup until it hits the bottom drain tube and drains out.

White thing on top is the cup I'm talking about. It over flows the sides and goes down the hole in middle to the next cup below. Sorry i'm exhausted and high, if i didn;t explain it right that is why :face:

Great idea! The top pot on mine is lettuce and spinach, and the lowers are bigger fruiting plants, next spring I'll do herbs on top and lettuce and such on 2nd and 3rd tier while fruiting plants are down below so they don't block sunlight from the smaller plants above. Herbs do better in the leaf version of this planter, this is the bigger "original" planter. The leaf planter would be GREAT for herbs.

The leaf planter is smaller per pot not by a lot, the original pots hold 1 cu each pot while the leaf pots are 0.75cu per pot/tier

Come winter i may bring it in the 4x4 remove 2 tiers and try growing 18 autos in it (if my seed run goes good) one 300w light above it and a few 100-150w going around it, spin it a 1/4 turn everyday.
