Outdoor LittleBear's Forest

Day 46 :

Got them all in the house (I need to restake the floor down). The hempy seedlings are looking fine, should I be worried about the high 90-low 100 temps? I imagine they will drink a ton, but will the floral structure loosen as a result of this heat?

Day 51:
Had a really hot day (got up to 121 in the greenhouse for about an hour, they bogged down for a day but kept trucking). Little leaf damage, but nothing that serious.

I was expecting more floral structure by this point, but I still have a majority of unswollen calyxes and immature pistils. These just seem like they absolutely wont be done in the next 9 days, but this is to be expected (the breeder suggested times rarely work out for me). You guys think they are looking ok? My insecurity is showing ;)

hempy seedings (cycle 2) are looking good. didnt bother to photo all 15 of them, but they are generally at this level of development:

I'm thinking either these (cycle 1) are going to go a little bit longer than 60 days, or else I'm not going to harvest that much off of these (the floral structure looks more sparse than normal). With that being said, I've had aggressively growing, vigorous plants the whole cycle. Am I being alarmist/premature? Consequently, should I be looking at harvesting these girls around 70-75ish days?

Lol, my indoor knowledge is doing me little to shit at the moment :) You guys are a lifesaver.

Your girls are looking great little bear! Yeh autos will take longer outdoor but it's worth it. Nothing like herb grown in the wind and sun which you'll be enjoying shortly.

How is the aroma in there know?

Just curious, are you able to get an oscillating fan in there?

Thanks! getting excited, they are continuing to plump up nicely. The odor is very localized, not that intense on a scale of 1-10 ('3' within 15 ft of the greenhouse, goes up to like a '5' when you stick your head in). Its has that dull skunk (faintly) to it, but its mostly a floral/fruit/citrus vibe. It doesn't set off my "*sniff*.... oh shit!"warning bells atm, but I wonder how they will be at the height of flowering!

Trying to figure out a circulation solution, I may have to run some fairly long extension cords to get some power out there. Had to make a few adjustments, circulation has improved dramatically but I do want a fan in there. These girls are taking hellacious heat without looking back, and honestly look the better for it :)

In retrospect, I feel like I was wasting my time with indoor.

Day 62 (It's getting close):

IMG_0387.JPG IMG_0390.JPG IMG_0391.JPG IMG_0392.JPG IMG_0393.JPG IMG_0394.JPG
Smell has picked up quite a bit, but is still localized to once you step into the greenhouse. Everything is looking ok, a little tip burn on select plants, but its so late in the cycle its inconsequential. Stoked! Some look like they have a week or so to go (looking at 71-75 day harvest), others might have a few more weeks. Had a Buddah assorted fem in the mix, im thinking shes a Magnum (slow flowering, lots of floral structure, nice trich formation very early into flowering with that lanky, bushy shape). I had been observing the randomness came out of the pack, and never saw a "Magnum-esque" plant until i popped these last few seeds. Woot, heard good things about the strain.

LST'd the hempys, they are going through the "spurt":

will the floral structure loosen as a result of this heat?
yes, yes the fuck it will. ill elaborate.

i absolutely tanked on this one, had my first experience with a "high heat" crop. first snip yielded 8 dry off of 15 plants (average temp 100-115), second snip got me a whopping 6.5 of of 15 (110-125F). great aroma, but buds were wispy this run, with a little foxtailing on select strains. lost a few flowers to mold on select plants, say about a zip total. with that being said, potency was seemingly unaffected, I was quite impressed with the Shiznit and the THC Bomb, I would recommend both.

quite meh, but a low cost learning experience nonetheless. save yourself some time; don't plan on using a greenhouse unless it has adequate means to regulate the environment (temp and air circ). lil disappointed with the situation at large, but everything is eventual :) live and learn.

so fuck it i guess its time to go indoor!! looking at herbies right now, seeing a bunch of wonderful shit. as far as photos, about to pick up a pack of DNA's Holy Grail Kush (and 2x Florida Lemons and 2x Florida Gold freebies! the Lemons sounds pretty dope). Looking at running 5-6 autos under 2x 600s, 2x6 space. Any suggestions? Been looking hard at Heavyweight (Lemon Cheesecake and Fruit Punch) and Fast Buds (West Coast OG and the Blackberry). I'm looking to at least coax an elbow out of these 12square feet, ill be rocking those photo genetics under a separate 1000w. Leaning towards the Fast Buds, I only wish there were more journals so I can get a feel for how they perform in 5 gals under 600s.

Whatcha think?

Nice bro. I'd like to hear more about your take on the shiznit. Choped mine last week, had my first puff of her Friday and it was very potent stuff.

Greenhouses are tough, need plenty of air circulation as you mentioned. I'd try some very resistant fast finishing photos if I were to run a greenhouse again.

DNA has some pretty sweet sounding photo strains. Holy grail kush sounds dope. I'd like to run some crocket family farms also or kief sweats glazed cherries.
