It's time got the beans in the dirt tonight hopefully everyone sprouts I ended up going with Mephisto Walter White, Double Grape, and Night Owl Outlier Z.. Soaked the seed in some kelp and humic for 3 hr then straight to the EBjr's.. I put about a fist full of CoM sprout island seed starter mix in the middle where I planted the bean .5" under Got light at 50" from pots running 60% 24/0 getting 240ppfd.. Temps set to 80F 65% rh
We got life both Double Grape and Outlier Z have broke the surface they both had a little helmet head but it slipped right off No life from Walter White pretty sure I see her trying to bust through but not quite yet.. Unfortunately I saw a few Gnats fly out of the pot when I removed the dome to check.. So as soon as i can give them some water they'll all get treated with BTI.. I might sprinkle some DTE under the covers just to get a head of it and get some nematodes coming
I completely forgot to update last night with everything going on but Walter White sprouted yesterday everyone is alive and happy Pots are still pretty wet so no gnat treatment yet.. I'm ordering some nematodes tonight 5 million enough for these 3 EBjr's?
Day 4 girls are looking good boxes were still pretty moist but I gave them a treatment of BTI and spinosad nematodes should be here in the next couple days ordered from Aribico organics.. Gnats aren't getting to awful bad but they are around That's all I've had to do and just keeping the humidifier full pretty smooth sailing
This post is from LS but any input from the folks in here is appreciated
Ok so I read them got it pretty simple now if the pots are still pretty moist on the surface should I still water the soil first? but I must also mention they are day 8 almost to the start of week 3 two more days according to my calendar which is they're first top dressing and that has me thinking I should wait and apply them then or apply now and hold of on the top dress for a couple days doing mid to end of week 3 any and all input is greatly appreciated
Ok so i think we got a plan @Fermented_Fruitz suggested removing the covers and applying the todes when I top dress which will be Sunday I think Also give them couple days to dry out just a tad cause they are a touch over watered... When I top dress I will be adding composts a along with dry feed (EWC, lobster compost, cow manure composts) amounts to be determined i normally do 1/2 cup EWC, 1/4 plant food for a 5-10 gallon pot.. the rest is new
I switched them to 18/6 2 days ago and bumped the ppfd up a bit getting 360+ ppfd 23-25 dli at the pots running 70-80% (261watts) @ 50" from pots.. That's my max height i am just going to leave it there and adjust dimmer as needed
Well like said before girls got top dressed today gave 1/4 cup CoM Plant Food 5-2-4 2 cup, EWC 3 cups, CoM lobster compost, 1 cup CoM cow manure compost per box (3 boxes= 6EWC, 9LC, 3CM)... I put down the plant food in the boxes first then I mixed all the compost for the 3 boxes in a 5 gallon bucket wetted down and mixed it all up applied the nematodes mixed some more then spread out evenly across ALL the boxes. I did wet the compst little more once i spread it all out in the boxes before i put the covers on I made up 1 gallon 100ppm Tap/RO blend with .125g kelp, .35 humic, .08 amino, .08 omina, .02 yucca, and .6ml Mammath p ~ ph to 6.3
80F( +/- 3) and 65%rh lighting has stayed the same 350ppfd at the boxes
Day 13 Girls are looking good took ok to the topdressing think they alittle moist so i haven't gave them any water.. Don't see as many gnats around only a few on the traps less then before so that s good sign.. Need to think about topping the girls are ripping and I'll be able to top well before day 21 Might just let em go and train them
Lifted the covers pretty sure this is a good sign? soil is a little wet but we got life
