Light Green Speckles on Mephisto DBCx3BOG and Purple Stems on Cosmic Queen

Day 15 Update
Day 15
1x Cosmic Queen and 1x DBC x 3BOG

Medium/grow method: sohum soil 1 gal each direct from jiffy pellets

Feed: and supplements used: small amount of recharge when transplanting pellets and 3ml fish shit for 1500ml water last night

water source: Brita filter 58 ppm 5.9 ph

light used: diy bridgelux eb gen 2 3500k 186w max in 2 x 4 tent. Running at 71.5w at 13” about 20k lux

Climate: 76-80F 65-80 RH consistently averaging 72% RH

Not sure if the markings on these leaves are cause for concern. I'd really appreciate some input. Thanks!

Cosmic Queen has these yellow spots at the base of the larger leaf set after watering last night. Didn't see anything before.

DBCx3BOG showing light green speckling on the new leaf set. Happened before and I backed off the light. 300PPFD too much at this stage? They aren't really curling up anymore like they were with more light.

If your in soil, then you should be adjusting pH into the mid 6s.
Hard to tell at this point, but looks like the beginning of a calcium deficiency.
Calcium becomes more available above 6.5.

Coco or other soiless mediums are 5.8 to 6.2

Calcium fits with the purple stems as well, although this can be genetic in some strains.

I have heard using calcium carbonate and potassium silicate are best for adjusting PH. I just watered last night and this is the result. Do you think i should do any sort of flush right away with 6.5 ph water or should I wait until next watering in a few days? I’ve heard some people don’t like to flush organic soil but I’m still trying to read up. Thanks!

I'd wait, and then feed at maybe 6.6 a couple times and recheck the pH.

I use a product called Olympus up. It is a calcium carbonate base. Adding additional forms of calcium is always a good thing with canna.

I sprayed them with some epsom salt solution at 7.2PH this morning and Dx3 especially went from droopy to perked up in the last 12 hrs. Will upload pics right now.

CQ seems to be growing more light spots both on tips and base of leaves. runoff from last watering 3 days ago was 6.4 PH tested after it sat for a day. I agree from what I've read here that it looks like a calcium deficiency. I bought some calcium carbonate to use to increase the ph on my next watering. I'm hoping tomorrow morning will be a good time to water because I have to leave for a couple days for the holiday. Would it make sense to use unfiltered tap water so it's buffered and I can add more calcium or should raising the PH do the trick on it's own?
