Hi Alan

I posted an info sheet from Canna on Potassium deficiences...

https://www.autoflower.org/f90/potassium-deficiency-info-sheet-24072.html

And one sentence stands out...

"Too much potassium will cause soil damage, calcium and magnesium deficiencies and acidification of the root environment"

May be we should be looking at high potassium levels as a possible contributory factor..

All for now

Mr Jorilla ganjamoto.

Yes, I have read that too much Cal will lock out K. Thanks for the link.

watched the vid i must disagree with his temp ratio.. i have grown 40inch auto's with temps as low as 55 deg f. with no trouble's:smokebuds:

I say again, if its because of temps/rh then why did we not see this as much with cfl or t5 grows? It's just basic common sense. Instead of debating about the issue you could always just follow my nute sched or someone else's that hasn't had the cal mag issue. Although I can't tell you the actual cause of your problems (I do not think it is temps/rh) it will prevent them. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be looking into the cause of the LED calmag problem but if anyone just doesn't want the trouble just do what I do..

Clones(cuttings)/seedlings - 3tsp FF Big Bloom & 1ml super thrive per gallon. Ph'd to 6.2

Week 1 - 6tsp Big Bloom. 6.5ph rest of grow.

Week 2 - 1ml ET grow, micro, & bloom

Week 3 - 6tsp big bloom, 1ml ET micro, 3tsp FF Grow Big, 1/2tsp snow storm ultra, (1/2tsp dyna grow pro tekt silicon solution every watering till final flush)

Week 4 - 7.5ml ET grow, 3tsp FF big bloom, 1ml ET micro, 2.5ml ET bloom, 1ml super thrive 1/2tsp ss ultra.

- Cleanse - plain water 6.5 ph & ET killer tea foliar feeding.

Week 5 - 8 - normal FF feeding schedule + dyna grow pro tekt and mag pro 1/2 tsp per gal each, ET snow storm ultra 1/2tsp

Week 9 - 10 - FF schedule + dyna grow pro tekt and mag pro 1/2 tsp per gal each, ET crystal burst 1tsp, snow storm ultra 1tsp

Plain water last 2 weeks.

For autos I use a condenced version of this at 1/4 strength and increase to half at bloom.

There ya go. Kinda simple but also overly complicated lol.

I'll edit and post my nute schedule ASAP.

The whole reason for the thread is to debate the subject.

And for the record, just because the word debate is used, that doesn't mean a flame war is approved. There can and should be peaceful debate. Just because someone disagrees with another's idea doesn't make either person right until the theory has been substantiated. A group of level headed individuals debating theories is what has and will make AFN great.

If there was a pill that used safe and common ingredients to prevent a horrible disease but it wasnt clear exactly how or why it worked wouldn't you guys want it? I'm not saying to drop the subject, I'm saying here is a way to prevent the problem and trying ask questions and help people.
If we have growers on here that don't get the cal issues with LEDs shouldn't we be basing our experiments off of their work? I personally don't care what the reason for the problems are because they arnt a problem for me and they don't have to be for anyone else either.

Several of us have given ways to help prevent it and I will say again this thread was started to discuss the whole issue of LEDs and calmag def wether that be cause or prevention,if you want to talk about just prevention be my guest to start another thread bro. lets keep the vibe on here we started with.

That's a great idea and I will do that! I do not mean to disrupt the vibe and I am sorry if that's how it looked. I am simply providing my input and trying to help. If we have ways of preventing the problem can we not eliminate some of the theories as to why the problem happens? We already know what works shouldn't the discussion be about WHY it works?

What we/the LED producers really need is to find and stop the cause,we wouldn't need any prevention then.
