jamaican berry superauto

Well Day 112, the plant looks strong, lots and lots of pistils, but not calyx swell to speak of. So much for 90-105 days. Every bud looks like every bud has looked for 10 weeks.

I strongly suspect this isn't deeply breed enough to go fully auto,.. if it stalled this bad, time to treat her like a full photo' plant, and drop to 12/12 on the lights! Stay on the bloom nutes too,.. in a way, I;'m not surprised, if she really has landrace Jamaican genetics in her,... tropical Sativa's are 10 month season plants!

Hope it is fine if I chime in here my friend, but you know my background, and I would say you are 100% correct. Breeder, should have let this strain go for another generation or so before trying to 'lock' in it being a super auto. So yes, if she was mine I would treat her like any full photo. Hopefully once she is flipped to 12/12, she will be a fast finisher in flower. I will be interested to see how she turns out for you.

@Waira, my friend, please feel completely free to delete this post. I'm not sure on the rules for this section now, after my absence. I guess I better read this firs page or so, as I know before only staff members were to reply in this section. A great rule for obvious reasons.

Peace.

:pighug: Stickfriend, nothing doing my man! Your input and experience is always welcome, especially here at Sick Bay- :greenthumb:...your vast experience with a wide variety of genetics and breeding makes you a better call-maker on these things than I am,...:headbang:.... Alas, we see an awful lot of half-cooked shizzle these days, ay?! :nono:

You are way to kind my friend!

Yes, look how much autos have changed in a very short time period. Just like all the big seed co./producers are rushing all the CBD strains to market, same with these 'super autos' XXL autos etc.

Peace

Any guess how long she will take to finish under a 12/12 I have a couple Ripley's OG that are a little over 3 weeks and just planted a couple Heisenberg Specials. I hope I won't lose too much off of those with the shorter light schedule. This one seems to promise a nice harvest if she ever finishes.

I can't say bro', too many variables,... and it could be this strain, or pheno, is just plain bad and is wasting your time and $$,.. it's a shitty thing to contemplate, but it may be you have to just ditch her and move on,... if you can wait, see what a couple weeks shows,..if there's no better bud formation, any sign of bloom advancement, then can that POS and bark at the breeder too maybe,... nobody who releases unstable crap should be let off the hook for it, not in these fat fat auto times! Too many other fine breeders,...

I completely agree Waira, if this was my plant it would go into the compost bin asap. Never know what the true genetics are with dealing with a company like this. Know your breeders/seed companies to avoid this kind of thin happening in the future. just my 2 cents for what is worth.

Carry on.

8 days on the 12/12 and she seems to be swelling up. I tried to look at the heritage to get a clue as to how long I will need to wait, but I didn't find much. But wait I must.

I seriously think this thing could net an elbow if she stay healthy.

:headbang: awesome! She turned the corner,... hence the "wait and see" deal,..! She looks decidedly Sativa-dominant, but the flower time is a toss up just now,.. bud are coming along well, so maybe she won't be a 4 month bloom nightmare! I'd watch the stretch closely though, she may get quite a bit larger,... best thing to do is reach out to the breeder directly, and ask,... If her genes are good, you'll probably get somewhat airy bud, but potent tasty stuff! I'd consider clearing out the lower stuff too that's light starved and crummy looking,... look into supercropping, LST and other height control techniques,... :growing:..I think you'll need them! :hump:
