I had a chat over a beer with Eric the rasta gardener. He was telling me about the growing out here. Because of the constant short days of the Caribbean, they can't keep plants vegging. He tries to grow afghani when he can get the seeds, but says the island genetics takes back over within a couple of generations. They pull as many males as they can, but need the seeds to carry on.

We've had the heating on! But it was easier to sleep, not being in a rain forest! It was 27c and 80%rh at night, tree frogs are the loudest night noise I've ever encountered!
