Also would you spray at first sight of pistils still like you do with sts? How long after the 2nd application does sacs start to appear?
very easy to make, 2 applications is plenty, some people only do one! 2 weeks apart on the spraying
its posted on afn but I'll give the instructions here for you:
Hey pop how do you think she's looking? If she doesn't turn in the next week I'll probably call it a fail. And I'll be buying the productbto make some Sts. Now how long would a batch of sts be good for? I just popped another bean so I'll try again with sts.
Preparation of STS:
First, a stock solution is made. It consists of two parts (A and B) that are initially mixed separately, then blended together. Part A is ALWAYS mixed into part B while stirring rapidly. Use distilled water; tap water may cause precipitates to form.
Wear gloves while mixing and using these chemicals, and mix and use in a properly ventilated area. A mask will prevent the breathing of any dust, which is caustic. STS is colorless and odorless, and poses minimal health risks if used as described here. (See material safety data sheet links below). Note that silver nitrate and STS can cause brown stains upon drying, so spray over newspaper and avoid spilling.
Part A: .5 gram silver nitrate stirred into 500ml distilled water
Part B: 2.5 grams sodium thiosulfate (anhydrous) stirred into 500ml distilled water
The silver nitrate dissolves within 15 seconds. The sodium thiosulfate takes 30-45 seconds to dissolve.
The silver nitrate solution (A) is then mixed into the sodium thiosulfate solution (B) while stirring rapidly. The resulting blend is stock silver thiosulfate solution (STS).
This stock solution is then diluted at a ratio of 1:9 to make a working solution. For example, 100ml of stock STS is added to 900ml of distilled water. This is then sprayed on select female plants. Then do that second spraying at the end of week 2... seems to be the key for getting pollen from the more difficult strains.
Thanks for the info, the think that has me bugging it that its almost been 4 weeks, most of the journals I seen people getting sacs with 12-21 days im close to 30 days and nothing visible. Thinking my cs might be weak since I use a 9 volt battery.have some reps for giving it a go,
I use 6 v 300ma for 24 hours ... I cant say how yours is but some strains are difficult and just need persistence. if you want make some more... Did the cs turn dark like tan or slightly brown or stay clear? mine is always slightly tinted even after straining it.
For the Sodium Thiosulfate.. Did you use the powder form or the chucky crystal looking stuff? Im guessing it would be easier to measure out 2.5 grams if its in powdered form.Cs is cleaner and organic so
I tried cs first,no results....FML
Following the same sts instructions pops quoted and Bam!!! pollensacks drop Everytime. I've had Plants reverse w one application.and I have used STS that's been in the fridge for months and it's still working. Just my experience.... hopefully u get it bro
